Iโ€™ll be the first to admit that I have the biggest sweet tooth! Iโ€™m that person who always needs a little something sweet after dinner, even if itโ€™s just a piece of chocolate.

That said, when it comes to homemade desserts Iโ€™m all about recipes that are lighter, protein-packed and made with real-food ingredients, but are still delicious and will satisfy your sweet tooth. Here Iโ€™m sharing more than 20 of my favorite high protein desserts, like my viral cottage cheese cookies, protein cake and greek yogurt popsicles, which are a favorite with my kids! Thereโ€™s something to satisfy everyoneโ€™s sweet tooth here.

Why I Care About Protein (Even in Dessert)

If youโ€™re wondering why I care about protein or why Iโ€™m sharing a bunch of high protein desserts with you, itโ€™s because protein is one of the three macronutrients necessary for our bodyโ€™s functions (along with fat and carbohydrates).

Protein helps build your bones, muscles, tissues, and organs โ€” and keeps all those systems functioning properly. On a less science-y note, it helps you feel full and satisfied, supports cravings, and can help with weight maintenance.

I try to get a good source of protein at every meal (you can also check out my favorite high protein breakfast recipes, high protein lunch recipes and high protein snacks) โ€” and dessert is no exception.

All of the recipes Iโ€™m sharing here include a source of protein, from protein powder and tofu to cottage cheese and Greek yogurt. Theyโ€™re all guaranteed to satisfy your sweet tooth and keep you feeling good.

Easy, no-bake options that are great for snacking or sharing.

These feel more like traditional desserts, from cake to brownies to pie, but with a protein-packed twist.

Make Dessert Work for You

These arenโ€™t meant to be โ€œguilt-freeโ€ desserts โ€” just ones that leave you feeling good after you eat them. I hope this roundup shows that you donโ€™t have to give up sweets, just swap in a few ingredients that work for you, not against you.
