I’ll be the first to admit that I have the biggest sweet tooth! I’m that person who always needs a little something sweet after dinner, even if it’s just a piece of chocolate.
That said, when it comes to homemade desserts I’m all about recipes that are lighter, protein-packed and made with real-food ingredients, but are still delicious and will satisfy your sweet tooth. Here I’m sharing more than 20 of my favorite high protein desserts, like my viral cottage cheese cookies, protein cake and greek yogurt popsicles, which are a favorite with my kids! Why I Care About Protein (Even in Dessert)
If you’re wondering why I care about protein or why I’m sharing a bunch of high protein desserts with you, it’s because protein is one of the three macronutrients necessary for our body’s functions (along with fat and carbohydrates).
Protein helps build your bones, muscles, tissues, and organs — and keeps all those systems functioning properly. On a less science-y note, it helps you feel full and satisfied, supports cravings, and can help with weight maintenance.
