Just a note, that the bake time will be different if you use chicken breasts. You’ll know the chicken is ready when the internal temperature reaches 165°F.
  • dried oregano – a must for that classic Mediterranean flavor.
  • garlic and onion powder – adds depth and savoriness to the seasoning blend.
  • lemon zest – brightens everything up and gives the chicken a fresh, citrusy kick.
  • salt and pepper – simple, but essential for bringing out all the flavors.

How to Make Baked Greek Chicken (Step-by-Step)

  • Don’t skip the lemon zest: It might seem like a small thing, but trust me, the zest adds so much brightness and really brings out the Mediterranean flavors.
  • Marinate for extra flavor: If you have the time, you can make a Greek chicken marinade by whisking the seasonings with olive oil, fresh lemon juice, and a clove of minced garlic. Then let the chicken marinate for at least 30 minutes (or up to 24 hours). The longer it soaks, the more flavorful it gets!
  • Make it a sheet pan meal: Make dinner even easier! Toss chopped bell peppers, red onion, zucchini, or baby potatoes onto the pan with the chicken before baking. Everything roasts together for a full meal with minimal effort.
  • Make it in the air fryer: If you love a crispy outside, pop the seasoned chicken into an air fryer at 375°F for 12-15 minutes, flipping halfway through.

How to Store & Reheat Leftovers

  • In the fridge – Store leftover Greek chicken in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4 days. It reheats beautifully and makes for easy meal prep!
  • In the freezer – Want to save some for later? Let the cooked chicken cool completely, then store it in a freezer-safe container or zip-loc bag for up to 3 months. Thaw in the fridge overnight before reheating.
  • Reheating – Warm the chicken in a skillet over medium heat, in the oven at 350°F for 10 minutes, or in the air fryer at 350°F for 3-5 minutes. You can also microwave it, but the texture is best when reheated on the stovetop or in the oven.
