This grapefruit apple cider vinegar drink is an awesome immune booster, and a tasty way to get your daily dose of apple cider vinegar.

I’m really excited to share this post with you because I’ve had this little drink recipe on my to-do list for over a year. You see, there’s this grapefruit apple cider vinegar drink called “The Burner” at one of my favorite local juice shops. I don’t drink juice very often because I like smoothies and smoothie bowls better, but when I see something made with apple cider vinegar I have to try it. Plus, if there’s one juice I do actually enjoy, it’s grapefruit juice. Hello, skinny palomas!

When I tried The Burner at North End Juice Co., I loved it and decided I need to make a homemade version STAT. When I was recently gifted a Hurom H-AI slow juicer, I immediately knew the first thing I needed to juice was a grapefruit so I could make this drink.

I should note that Dr. Oz also has a popular grapefruit apple cider vinegar drink, and as part of his Slimdown Plan he suggests that you drink it before every meal. I’m not going to go that far, but I think this drink is awesome and a tasty way to incorporate apple cider vinegar into your diet, which I’m all about. Apple cider vinegar has a ton of great benefits on its own, and grapefruit juice does as well, so combined they’re a powerhouse of nutrients.

What are the benefits of grapefruit juice?

Grapefruit juice is relatively low in calories (100 calories for 8 oz) and high in nutrients. It’s packed with vitamins and minerals (like Vitamin C) that can help build your immune system. Studies have also shown that eating grapefruit may lead to weight loss because of the fiber and water content. It has also been shown to help with diabetes and heart disease. Basically, it’s a powerhouse fruit! And don’t worry, with grapefruit juice you may be missing out on some of the insoluble fiber from the grapefruit – but you’ll still be getting the soluble fiber. Learn more about juicing and fiber here.

It is important to note that grapefruit isn’t for everyone! Grapefruit contains substances that block certain enzymes in your body, which prevents the breakdown of some medications and can lead to overdose. If you are on any medications, check with your doctor before adding grapefruit to your diet!

Now onto the “recipe”. It’s such a simple drink you don’t really even need a recipe, but I’m going to share one anyway. 1 part apple cider vinegar + 4 parts grapefruit juice and a touch of sweetener and voila! You’ve got a delicious grapefruit apple cider vinegar drink.

I tried this over ice sweetened with honey, and it was delicious! I also like how informative your post is. My dad cannot have grapefruit because of a medication he is prescribed, so it’s great to have that reminder for people to check with their doctor if needed.

I Love this, i have also went as far as putting fresh boiled ginger root.. Let cool down and mix with the Grapefruit and appleccider vinigar. This is the greatest detoxification drink. Ginger root is also filled with many benefits.

  6. There is a lot of carbs in this drink. Are these good carbs or bad carbs? Bad carbs are not good for cholesterol.
