If you’re looking for the best shredded chicken recipes, you’re in the right place. Shredded chicken is one of my favorite meal prep staples because it’s incredibly versatile and can be used in everything from salads and soups to bowls, casseroles and tacos.

I often cook a big batch of shredded chicken during my weekend meal prep so I can use it throughout the week in recipes like my Greek yogurt chicken salad, healthy chicken enchiladas, or Brunswick stew. It’s one of the easiest ways to save time in the kitchen while still having plenty of healthy meal options ready to go.

How to Make Shredded Chicken for These Recipes

If you want to make any of the recipes below quickly, I recommend starting with a batch of shredded chicken. My favorite method is slow cooker shredded chicken because it’s simple and the chicken turns out tender every time.

You can cook boneless skinless chicken breasts or thighs in the slow cooker for 3–4 hours on low and shred them once they’re done. One batch usually gives you enough chicken to make several of the recipes in this list throughout the week.
