Elevate your snack game with this viral high protein Dunkaroo dip made with only 4 simple ingredients. It’s super nostalgic, delicious and each serving packs over 20 grams of protein.

As soon as I saw this viral recipe from Blair Cooley on TikTok I knew I had to try it. I grew up loving Dunkaroo Dip but as an adult I don’t love the ingredients used or the fact that it’s high in sugar.
This version is low sugar, high protein and such a tasty snack. I love it and so do my kiddos!
I served it up with small graham crackers for the full nostalgic affect but it would be delicious with apple slices, which are higher in fiber.

Why You’ll Love This Recipe
This dunkaroo dip recipe is such a fun throwback—with a healthy twist! Here’s why I think you’ll love it as much as I do:
- Only 4 ingredients – Doesn’t get much easier than this.
- Tastes like cake batter – Sweet, creamy, and totally satisfying.
- Protein-packed – Thanks to Greek yogurt and protein powder, this dip actually keeps you full.
- Fun to serve – Add it to snack boards or pack it in lunchboxes. Adults and kids both love it!
- Customizable – You can mix up the flavors, swap out the dippers, or add toppings to make it your own.
Ingredients Needed
This high protein dunkaroo dip is so easy to whip up and requires just a few simple ingredients.
- greek yogurt – I used 2% plain Greek yogurt, which worked perfectly, but full-fat yogurt will also work. If you use non-fat greek yogurt you will likely need some sort of sweetener like 1-2 teaspoons of maple syrup because it tastes tangier.
- protein powder – I highly recommend using cake batter protein powder (use code EBF for 10% off). You can use vanilla protein if that’s all you have but you’ll likely want to add a little almond or butter extract as well for more cake flavor.
- vanilla extract – just a splash to really bring out that vanilla cake flavor!
- rainbow sprinkles – I used Watkins Rainbow Sprinkles, but I also love Supernatural Rainbow Sprinkles. They’re both free of artificial dyes and corn syrup!
- small graham crackers or fruit – I love serving this dip with small graham crackers (like Annie’s honey bunnies or Simple Mills Sweet Thins), but you can also use apple slices or even strawberries for more fiber.
Substitutions & Variations
This dip is easy to customize based on what you have or how you like it:
- Make it a layered snack: Add a layer of your favorite fruit preserves or chopped strawberries at the bottom of your container for a fruity surprise.
- Make it dairy-free: Swap in a thick dairy-free yogurt like coconut or almond-based. Just look for one that’s plain and unsweetened so you can control the flavor and sweetness.
- Add-ins for extra texture: Stir in crushed graham crackers, almond flour “crumble,” or even a spoonful of nut butter for more richness and texture.
- Chocolate variation: Sub chocolate protein powder and mini chocolate chips for a fun twist on chocolate birthday cake dip.
How to Make High Protein Dunkaroo Dip
This protein-packed dip couldn’t be easier to whip up—just one bowl and a spoon! Here’s how:
Step 1: Add the Greek yogurt, protein powder, and vanilla to a bowl and stir until smooth and fully combined.
Step 2: Gently fold in the sprinkles. Serve right away with graham cracker cookies or fruit, or chill in the fridge until ready to enjoy.
Brittany’s Tips
A few quick tips to help your dunkaroo dip turn out perfectly:
- Use a flavored protein powder you love: Since it’s a key ingredient, the flavor really comes through! I like using cake batter or vanilla for that classic dunkaroo vibe.
- Wait to add the sprinkles: Fold them in just before serving to keep them from bleeding too much into the yogurt.
- Chill it for a firmer texture: Letting the dip rest in the fridge for 15–30 minutes can help it thicken up and improve the texture.
How to Store
This dip is great for prepping ahead and storing in the fridge:
Refrigerator: Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4 days. Give it a good stir before serving, especially if the sprinkles start to melt into the dip.
Meal prep tip: Portion it into small jars or containers with a side of graham crackers or fruit for an easy grab-and-go snack or lunchbox treat.
Frequently Asked Questions
I recommend using a cake batter or vanilla-flavored protein powder for the most authentic flavor. Make sure it’s one you actually enjoy on its own since the taste really comes through in this recipe.
Yes, you can. You’ll lose the protein boost, but you can still mix Greek yogurt with vanilla extract, a little maple syrup, and sprinkles for a similar flavor.
Yes! Just be sure to use a protein powder with clean ingredients and no artificial sweeteners or stimulants. It’s a fun and satisfying snack for both kids and adults.

I loved the idea of this but frankly it didn’t taste very good. I used all the ingredients as listed. After a day in the fridge it got quite goopy almost like slime. I think this recipe has potential but isn’t there yet.
Oh no! I’m so sorry to hear you didn’t like this one. What type of protein powder and greek yogurt did you use? I’m wondering if one of those affected the consistency because I’ve made this a few times now and it definitely didn’t have a slimy texture.
