Banana Nut Oatmeal

This banana nut oatmeal is a delicious and healthy breakfast that combines ripe bananas and crunchy walnuts.
Prep Time: 3 minutes
Cook Time: 7 minutes
Total Time: 10 minutes
Servings: 1

  • ½ cup old fashioned rolled oats
  • 1 cup water or milk
  • pinch of sea salt
  • ¼ teaspoon of ground cinnamon, optional
  • ¼ teaspoon vanilla extract, optional
  • ½ banana, sliced
  • 2 Tablespoons walnuts, toasted
  • ½ Tablespoon peanut butter
  • ¼ teaspoon chia seeds

  • Add oats, water or milk, salt, cinnamon and vanilla (if using) to a pot or saucepan over medium/high heat.
  • Bring mixture to a low boil, reduce heat to a low simmer and continue to cook for about 5-7 minutes; stirring occasionally. Oatmeal is ready when the oats have soaked up most of the liquid and are creamy.
  • Transfer to a bowl and add top oats with banana slices, toasted walnuts, peanut butter and chia seeds. You can also add the banana slices during the cooking process. The banana will add a ton of flavor and a bit of sweetness to the oatmeal.
