Everyone needs a go-to green juice recipe and this delicious green juice fits the bill. It’s packed with three different types of greens (kale, romaine and parsley), has a green apple for a hint of sweetness and a big splash of lemon juice for a little zing.
Today I want to switch gears a little and talk about the benefits of including leafy greens in our diet and share my new favorite green juice recipe that makes getting your daily dose of greens a piece of cake. Sadly, green juice doesn’t taste like cake, but you can make it taste pretty darn good.

Okay so let’s talk about why leafy dark greens (like kale, collards, spinach, chard, bok choy, dandelion greens, broccoli rabe, arugula, etc) are sooo incredibility good for us.
Health Benefits of Leafy Dark Greens
- blood purification
- cancer prevention
- improved circulation
- strengthened immune system
- improved liver, gall bladder and kidney function
- cleared congestion, especially in the lungs
- promotion of healthy intestinal flora
I prepare greens in a variety of ways, but during the summer months I LOVE making salads (like this kale and cabbage salad) or breaking out my juicer to make fresh juice. I have the Hurom Slow Juicer and love it. The only part I don’t love is cleaning the juicer, but alas, the fresh juice is totally worth the cleaning. Fresh juice is not only easy to make, but you can literally pack a ton of green veggies into one meal by drinking a juice like the one I’m sharing today.
There’s much debate about whether juicing or blending is better and I sort of take the middle of the road approach. I like both for different reasons and tend to switch between the two. Since I’m sharing a juice recipe today, let’s talk about the benefits of juicing.
Benefits of Juicing
- fast and easy absorption of nutrients
- increased energy levels
- improved cognitive function
- glowing skin
- gives your digestive system a little rest
- strong hair and nails
- additional health benefits of consuming more produce than you’d normally eat raw
- helps to alkalize your body <– green juice is best for this!

It’s packed with three different types of greens (kale, romaine and parsley), has a green apple for a hint of sweetness and a big splash of lemon juice for a little zing. It’s seriously one of the best juices I’ve made and I’m really excited for you to try it.

If you try this green juice recipe be sure to leave a comment and star rating letting me know what you think. Your feedback is super helpful for the EBF team and other readers!

This looks like a great juice! Plus, the added health benefits makes it all the more appealing!
Thanks Melissa!
Lately I’ve been loving pear and/or pineapple in my green juices!!!
Oh yum! I love pear and pineapple juice as well. So refreshing.
This looks awesome and a bit less expensive by relying heavily on romaine. I will try it this weekend and report back!
Yay! Can’t wait to hear what you think.
I cheat by buying them whe I shop at Whole Foods. My fave combo is apple, greens and lemons. So refreshing!
Lucky duck! Our Whole Foods doesn’t have a juice bar. :/
This sounds so yummy! I love a good juice!
Yum!
My fav combo is kale, beet, carrot, apple, ginger and lemon, it never lets me down!
Never have thought of using romaine in juice! Probably adds a lot of good liquid without too much of a grassy flavor.
sounds super refreshing!!! will try it for sure 🙂

I also love green juice and this is one of my favorite combinations. The only benefit you do miss from the juice however is the fiber so it really does not contain 16 grams per serving.
You’re totally right. Just fixed it.
Such a wonderfully healthy and vibrant juice, thanks!
Your green juice is a must-try! It’s really healthy and if you want to have something that’s light, I recommend people to try this. Drinking healthy and natural juices have lots of benefits for our body.
sooo good 🙂
Have you ever tried watercress?
I find it refreshing and watercress is extremely good for you and your skin. I have also heard of micro greens being produced in the last few years on a very large scale. Juicing or blending these could also be amazingly beneficial.
Loved your post!
There are many other green and leafy vegetables to choose from so you can never get tired of trying the same thing twice. Try to incorporate a green juice into your diet at least once per day. Breakfast is the perfect time to make a green juice because you can start your day off with a delicious and nutritious meal.
Yes!! I completely agree! 🙂
This green juice is so simple and easy to make. I tried it today. Amazing freshness. Love it.
Diabetic: lots of sugar and carbs. Any recipes for a diabetic?

Yay! 🙂
Can you use a blender for this recipe? Thanks
Yes, that should work just fine!
Juicing is the process of extracting juice from fruits and vegetables. Juice can be extracted by utilizing various methods. There are many benefits to drinking leafy greens juice, but one must be aware that juice is not considered to be a meal.
