Juicy, flavorful and so easy, these Chick-fil-A grilled nuggets are a copycat recipe you’ll want on repeat. Perfect for weeknight dinners or meal prep.
Add the chicken, water, lemon juice, oil, salt, sugar, garlic powder, paprika, onion powder, pepper and parsley to a bowl or zip-top bag. Stir to coat well, cover and marinate in the fridge for at least 30 minutes.
Drain off any excess marinade. Heat a grill, grill pan or skillet over medium-high heat and lightly grease it with oil or cooking spray.
Place the chicken in a single layer and cook for 3–4 minutes per side, or until cooked through and lightly charred. Internal temp should be 165°F.
Let rest for a couple of minutes, then serve and enjoy! Perfect with honey mustard, barbecue sauce, or a homemade Chick-fil-A dipping sauce.
Notes
Skewer trick: Thread nuggets onto skewers (space them out so they aren’t touching) for easy flipping. If using wooden skewers, soak them in water for 10 minutes first.
Marinade timing: Even 30 minutes gives good flavor, but for best results marinate 4–6 hours. Just don't marinate for more than 12 hours. The lemon juice is acidic and can change the texture of the chicken if it sits too long.
Cooking options: You can use an outdoor grill, grill pan, or even a regular skillet on the stovetop. A skillet won’t give grill marks, but the nuggets will still be juicy and flavorful.
Storage: Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4 days. Reheat in the oven or air fryer at 350°F until warmed through. Nuggets can also be frozen for up to 2 months.
