Say goodbye to dry chicken burgers! These homemade patties are tender, juicy, and full of flavor thanks to shredded zucchini, fresh herbs, and Worcestershire sauce. Perfect for grilling or stovetop—just add your favorite toppings and sides!
Your favorite saucelike garlic aioli, chipotle mayo, or ketchup
Instructions
In a large bowl, combine ground chicken, shredded and squeezed zucchini, breadcrumbs, egg, red onion, parsley, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Use your hands or a fork to mix until just combined—don’t overmix.
Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape into patties. If the mixture is sticky, lightly wet your hands to help form the burgers.
Stovetop Method
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Cook the patties for about 5–6 minutes per side, or until golden brown and the internal temperature reaches 165°F.
Grill Method
Preheat grill to medium-high and lightly oil the grates. Grill patties for 5–6 minutes per side, flipping once.
Toast the buns if desired. Add your chicken patties and layer with your favorite toppings and sauces. Enjoy immediately with a side of fries, chips, salad, or roasted veggies.
Notes
Gluten-free: Use gluten-free breadcrumbs, or try almond flour or almond meal as a binding alternative.
Egg-free: Need an egg-free option? Use a flax egg or an egg replacer like Bob’s Red Mill Egg Replacer.
To store: Let cooked burgers cool completely before placing them in an airtight container. Store in the fridge for up to 4-5 days.
To freeze: Arrange the cooled burgers on a parchment-lined baking sheet and freeze until firm, about 1 to 2 hours. Then transfer the frozen patties into a freezer-safe bag or container and store for up to 3 months.
To reheat: Rewarm the burgers on the stovetop in a skillet over medium heat for about 3-4 minutes per side until heated through. Alternatively, bake them in a 350°F oven or toaster oven for 10-15 minutes. For a quicker option, microwave in 30-second bursts until hot—though this method might make the texture a bit softer.
