Ingredients

  • 1 3.5 ounce pouch yogurt (any flavor) I used Stonyfield Organic Strawberry Beet Berry

Instructions

  • Line a baking sheet or large flat plate with parchment paper. Be mindful that you want something that will fit in your freezer.
  • Squirt tiny dime-size circles of yogurt onto the parchment paper, making rows. Using a store-bought yogurt pouch makes this really easy, but if you want to use yogurt from a container, simply add the yogurt to a reusable pouch, piping bag or to a plastic baggie with the tip cut off.
  • Place the baking sheet or plate with yogurt melts in the freezer and let them freeze at least 2 hours or overnight. They will get harder has they continue to freeze.
  • To serve, I recommend bring a few yogurt melts out from the freezer at a time because they melt quickly. If the bites are frozen solid let them sit at room temp for 1-2 minutes to thaw a bit before giving them to baby. You can also test how hard they are by placing one on your tongue to see if it melts easily. This is helpful if you're worried about choking!
  • Store leftover yogurt melts in the freezer. Once they're frozen solid you can transfer them to a freezer-safe container for storage, but be aware that if they start to melt at all they will stick together. Alternatively you can keep them on the baking sheet or plate in the freezer for storage. They will keep in the freezer for up to 3 months.

Notes

  • To use yogurt from a container: I recommend using plain, whole milk Greek yogurt and baby food puree to sweeten and color the yogurt melts. You'll want to do 4 oz of yogurt (about 1/2 cup with 1-2 Tablespoons of puree).
