UDI’s granola

Nuggets of Goodness

by eatingbirdfood on August 23, 2008

I love granola – in yogurt, as part of trail mix, by the handful, by the spoonful, or even finishing off the bag by sliding the last broken bits into my mouth. To my granola delight – I was sent a generous package of UDI’s Granola to sample and review. As I try the different kinds I will post them on the regular portion of my blog and on the product review section! With out further ado, here is the one I had to try first:

THE NUGGETS

What I like most about eating granola is searching through the smaller pieces for the large chunks. If this sounds like you, I’ll let you in on a little secret brought to you by UDI’s Granola. Natural Artisan Granola – NUGGETS. If you like the big chunks of goodness than this granola will have you saying jackpot, because it is just that – snackable, holdable, Granola CHUNKS (with cashews, almonds, and sunflower seeds) that taste delicious

This granola blew me away. It’s crunchy- but not too hard, bite size, tastes awesome and is good for you. I think this is a perfect snacking granola – the nutritional facts are pretty darn good, a low amount of calories per serving for a granola, low sugar, no Sat or Trans fat, 3 grams of protein and fiber! The ingredient list is short and sweet, which is always a plus in my book: Thick cut rolled oats, wildflower honest, canola oil, almonds, cashews, sunflower seeds, raw cane sugar, lecithin, and salt.

I know they sell Udi’s at Fresh Market and apparently they are going to start selling it at Wal-Mart as well… I’m not sure if Whole Foods or Earth Fare have it? Of course this isn’t the only Udi’s granola product and I will be reviewing more varieties in the future! Also another tid-bit I read about Udi’s granola company is that Frontier flights will soon offer Udi’s granola as a snack. Personally I have never flew Frontier, but I would be delighted if Air Tran offered something other than the measly bag of pretzels… especially if it was granola.
