Hope everyone had a great weekend. Here’s a recap from my Sunday afternoon/evening.
Left- over salmon salad for lunch. I love the details of the front tomato is this photo.
We basically lounged around the house all afternoon, besides going out to get ice-cream. I order a banana ice-cream with peanut butter. A great summer treat. And no worries it didn’t spoil my appetite, I was still hungry for dinner about 1 hour later. Dinner was kind of thrown together. Isaac had steak that needed to be eaten so he was planning on grilling that so I decided to have a veggie burger, this one is Amy’s California Veggie Burger – one of my favorites; although, it makes sense that it’s my fav considering it’s the only Amy’s veggie burger I have tried. I usually stick with Morning Star because they are cheaper and on sale more often. But what I like about this one is the texture – It’s more grainy than the Morning Star burgers, alas it does have more calories as well. I put the burger on an Ezekiel English muffin for a bun with ketchup, avocado, tomato, and baby spinach. We also had some grilled squash and tomatoes. I whipped up my version of:
Tabbouleh Salad
- left over bulger
- tomatoes
- cucumber
- chopped basil
- a few chopped jalapenos (fresh from the garden.. no need to worry),
- some squirts of lime juice
- garlic powder
- S&P
It tasted really fresh and delicious.
I thought for fun, if anyone is interested even slightly that I would post some of my favorite work out songs. I listen to my ipod at the gym and when I am running outside. I get the warnings from the avid runners here in the city that you shouldn’t run with head phones because of the traffic, but I like to have music to keep me pumped up while I run. So I try to turn it on a lower volume, but sometimes I can’t help it and I have to turn it up. I have a very eclectic taste in music as you will see:
- Over and Over Again – Clap Your Hands Say Yeah
- Rebellion (Lies)- Arcade Fire
- Here It Goes Again- Ok Go
- Touchdown Turnaround (Don’t Give Up on Me)- Hellogoodbye
- Subterranean Homesick Blues- Bob Dylan **One of my favorite Bob Dylan songs
- The Yeah Yeah Yeah Song…(With All Your Power) - The Flaming Lips
- It Overtakes Me -The Flaming Lips Fight Test- The Flaming Lips
- I Want You Back- Jackson 5
- Lounge (Closing Time)- Modest Mouse
- Here it Comes- Modest Mouse
- Steady, As She Goes- The Raconteurs
- Brand New Colony- The Postal Service
- Cecilia - Paul Simon (my favorite Paul Simon song)
- Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da - The Beatles
- Eight Days A Week- The Beatles
- Down Under- Men at Work
- Black Tambourine- Beck
- Think I’m in Love- Beck
- The Distance- Cake
- Voodoo Lady- Ween
- Wasted Time- Kings of Leon
- She Moves in Her Own Way- Kooks
- Young Folks- Peter Bjorn and John
- Let’s Spend the Night Together- The Rolling Stones
- Blister in the Sun- Violent Femmes
