The weather has been so chilly lately that all I want to eat is soup. Well, oats for breakfast and then soup for all other meals.

My morning workout left limited time for breakfast so I grabbed a packet of regular oatmeal and a plastic baggy with ground flax, raisins, organic suganut and pepitas to prepare at work. It was the perfect breakfast on the run. Although, I will note that I missed my stove top oats- instant just doesn’t compare. That’s the only thing that stinks about exercising in the AM, I usually don’t have time to make stove top oats!
Anyhow, for lunch I tried a new-to-me product – Pacific organic roasted red pepper and tomato soup out of a convenient pourable bottle.

Topped with a crumbled fiber filled rye Wasa cracker

Yum! I didn’t add any seasonings to this soup and it was delicious! I used to LOVE Trader Joe’s Roasted red pepper and tomato soup but I think Pacific might have it beat. Although, I must admit I haven’t had the TJ’s version in awhile. I should buy some and do a taste test. I’ve been loving taste tests lately.
Speaking of TJ’s though, I did make a new to purchase this past weekend.

TJ’s Hummus wants to be Sabra- can you tell?

The hummus is definitely good- much creamier and tastier than the regular TJ’s hummus but not exactly Sabra either. It’s much cheaper though and overall a pretty delicious tasting hummus. I’ll be buying it again, when I’m lazy and decide not to save money and make my own.
I’ve also been eating quite a bit of Isaac’s “Throw Everything in the Pot Chili”. It consists of many canned veggies, chili seasoning, fresh herbs, and some spicy peppers.

It’s easy to make, yet very tasty and perfect for the cold days we’ve been experiencing lately. I think I’ve had it for 2 dinners and 1 lunch so far this week. The only thing I’ve really been missing is corn bread. Chili NEEDS corn bread, but we didn’t have any so a slice of bread had to take it’s place and it just wasn’t the same. :/
I’ll be back soon with some fabulous news, new recipes, and perhaps a giveaway…… get excited!!
