For each new morning with its light, For rest and shelter of the night, For health and food, for love and friends, For everything Thy goodness sends.
-Ralph Waldo Emerson

I hope everyone that celebrates had a wonderful Thanksgiving yesterday. I celebrated with Isaac’s family and besides a quick trip to the emergency room during dinner, the day was wonderful. <– Isaac’s dad had intense pain occur while we were eating and had to leave the dinner table. There was a doctor in the house and he recommended a trip to the ER so I went with Isaac’s immediate family there. Luckily the hospital wasn’t busy and he got in and tested within a few hours. They couldn’t find anything wrong and said it was just intense abdominal pain and that he should follow up with a doctor visit this coming week. It was definitely scary and is still a little nerve racking not to know exactly what caused the pain, but all the tests for major issues came back negative so that was a good thing.
After everything happened Isaac, his sister and I went back to his Aunt’s house for dessert before calling it a night. You can’t go dessert-less on a day like Thanksgiving!

We indulged in my homemade pumpkin cheesecake pie and by the end of the night, my face probably looked like the “face” that appeared on my pie – content and sleepy. I thought about covering the cracks on the pie, but Isaac’s mom told me looked homemade this way so I just rolled with it. Plus, I liked the little face the cracks made – dimples and all.
Tomorrow my family is coming down to our house for a Thanksgiving celebration. It’s our first time hosting a big meal, let along Thanksgiving. I’m excited, nervous and totally wishing I had a double oven after writing out all the items that need to be baked and served warm tomorrow. eeeekkkk
Happy belated Thanksgiving friends. We all have so much to be thankful for! Please know that I am thankful every day for each of you that read this little blog! I’ll leave you with another quote:
“Thanksgiving was never meant to be shut up in a single day.” -Robert Caspar Lintner
