That’s my motto – so I know it’s late but here are my eats from yesterday. For breakfast another lovely bowl of oats with some Udi’s Cranberry granola.. review to be posted here soon.

I’m still working on the tempeh and portabella mixture I made a few days ago so here it is again snuggled into a whole wheat pita with spinach, tomato, and hummus.
I had some carrots and hummus on the side! AND Yes that is a desk calendar and my lunch is packaged in tubberware so you may be led to believe that I was at work! But sadly not true because I was just helping out at Isaac’s mom’s office for one day. Sunday night I got out my lunch box and packed my lunch – for some reason this got me really excited, I guess it just felt nice to be back in a working routine even though it only lasted for one day..
I had some things that I didn’t get photos of as well. A bowl of the Special K Chocolate cereal… it tasted fine but I was mad when after I ate it I looked at the nutritional label and saw that it had HFCS. Later in the afternoon I had a plain yogurt with some granola mixed in and 1/2 a banana left over from breakfast.
MONDAY- Day 1 of training for my first HALF:
Right after “work” I went to the gym at the busiest time possible, but I was able to snag a treadmill. I was only suppose to do 2 miles easy (according to the 10-week training plan I am following), but I really wanted to get a workout in so I ran 4, and I bumped up my speed. It felt good!
OMG… I have to rant about this girl who was in front of me at the gym on the tread climber.. I think that is what you call the stair master that has moving stairs. She had on a sports bar and running shorts only and she kept rolling up her running shorts to the point that they looked like bathing suit bottoms – and her butt cheeks and undies were sticking out. She also brought her own portable fan to sit on the machine and a large bath towel to wipe under her arm pits every 2 minutes when she stopped the machine to do so. I must say watching stop the machine, her roll up her shorts and wipe her arm pits s was quite an entertaining way to spend my time on the treadmill. Although I definitely could have lived without seeing her undies.
On to more delightful things:
Dinner ended up being super late… around 9:30PM. We went with friends to Ipanema, a vegetarian and vegan restaurant, for dinner. I got the Fresh Mozzarella, Tomato, Basil Salad – the plate got a little messed up because I started eating before the photo… it was late and I was starving.

And a bowl of curried, coconut, potato soup – it had a spefic name but I don’t remember. Everyone loved what they order and all of our plates were completely cleaned by the end the of the meal… it seemed like perfect portions. Only maybe not for the guys – Isaac mentioned that he could eat another sandwich after he was done.

He ordered the Smoked Gouda Sandwich with caramelized onions, tomatoes, & thyme. Does it look like they purposefully put the bread in the shape of a heart to anyone else?
I had a bite and it was good. I wouldn’t want a whole sandwich of it though.. too much smoked gouda. I feel like sometimes vegetarian restaurants overdo their dishes with cheese to compensate for no meat. I guess if you are a cheese lover this is fine, but I like my cheese in moderation. But those sweet potato fries were awesome… and the salad had already disappeared before I had a chance to take a photo.
We went back to our friends place and hung out, came home late, and went straight to bed… well no I also had a snack of dry puffed wheat cereal – then went straight to bed.
I woke up this morning and in spirit of speeding up the autumn weather and trees changing colors I had pumpkin oats. I started with my normal banana oats, added in two spoonfuls of pumpkin puree, and some cinnamon. I topped it with ground flax, granola, and pecans. I also added a little brown sugar later when I realized I needed some more sweetness.

Off to tackle Tuesday!
