I switched up my oats a bit this morning and added 1/2 scoop of Designer Whey protein- so the end recipe looked like this:
- 1/2 cup oats
- almost 1 cup of water, with a smidge of hemp milk
- 1/2 banana
I cooked that for about 5 minutes on high and when it was getting thick and sticking to the bottom of the pot I turned off the heat and stirred in 1/2 scoop of the protein powder. I’m not sure but for some reason I feel that heat might be bad for protein powder… does anyone know?? Anyhow, I forgot to mix in the ground flax so I just sprinkled some on top. Chocolate for breakfast in a healthy way!
Isaac on the other hand also had chocolate for b-fast in the form of 2 chocolate pop tarts – they were organic, I’ll give him that, but not quite what I call a healthy b-fast.
Speaking of which, one day at Whole Foods I overheard a lady who was buying organic cheese puffs talking and said to her friend “I love shopping at Whole Food’s because they have the best tasting stuff and if it’s from here its gotta be healthy.” I agree they do have the best tasting stuff, but NEWS FLASH lady. Even though those cheese puffs are organic doesn’t exactly mean they are healthy. Just throwing that out there.
