After only posting the giveaway yesterday I am a little behind on what’s been happening en la cocina de EBF.
Where to start?!?
I also made this batch with gluten-free all-purpose flour and they turned out great. I tried one- just to make sure they were suitable to ship off to a special friend. 😉
Yesterday’s breakfast: I mixed things up a bit and did Overnight Chocolate Chia Oats (with oatbran)
- 1/4 cup oatmeal
- 1/4 cup oatbran
- 1/2 scoop designer whey chocolate protein power
- 1 cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk
- 1 tablespoon chia seeds
I tossed all the ingredients into a bowl, mixed it together well and put it in the fridge for the night. Twas perfect the next morning as I rushed off to work.
Speaking of work, the marketing team went out for lunch yesterday at Arianna’s Grill, a local pizza/italian place. I ordered the Mediterranean salad with portobello mushrooms. It was pretty good, but nothing to write blog home about.
However, I have been to Arianna’s for pizza before and absolutely loved it. Just goes to show you that when you go to a restaurant that specializes in pizza, you should probably order pizza.
Last night’s dinner ended up being left over roasted root veggies before rushing off to the gym for an evening workout – 30 sweaty minutes on the treadmill. I did running intervals and ended up running at 8.0 MPH to show up the guy next to me who was running at 7.8. (muwhahaha) And, I finished up my workout by WMM.
FYI, you don’t need to own a dehydrator to make kale chips and Kath has a recipe that is perfect if you don’t. I love how much they taste like chips yet they are greens! I have to warm you that they are as addicting as regular chips- only it’s okay because you’re eating kale. I used a different recipe than normal this time and they turned out fabulously. Thanks Gina!
I sipped on a little Cosmic Cranberry Kombucha before work.
This was my first time trying the Cranberry flavor and I drank it, but it was my least favorite flavor yet. I should have know because cranberries are quite tart, but next time I’ll stick with my favorites as of right now- Triology, GingerBerry, and Grape. I still have mango and strawberry on my list to try.
Along with my cosmic cranberry I had an egg white round and an ezekiel sprouted muffin with jam and better n pb.
After my Mickey Mouse of a breakfast I worked from home until my doctor’s appointment, went to the doc, and then headed into work for the day!
I also packed 1/2 of a Fruit Nut Bar of Gold for a snack.
Oh man. I thought the Banana Nut Chip was going to be my favorite, but the Fruit Nut has taken the leading role. It was so good. I loved the big chunks of fruit – especially the cherries. I’ll definitely be looking for this one in the stores here in Richmond. Aaron also updated me that he’ll be starting a Bars of Gold website and Foodzie page so I’ll be sure to keep you all posted with that info.
Isaac isn’t home from school yet, but I think I’m going to go cook up a pita pizza with a special cheesy sauce for dinner.
