Since my last post involved some not so fun news, I thought today would be a great day to share something a little more exciting…
I was recently sent a line of bars to try out from one of my previous health coaching clients (Hi Sarah!). She used to live in Richmond but has since moved to California and now works for a company called OneBar. The company is family owned and produces bars that are hypoallergenic, free of added sugar and great for kids (or adults).
Each bar has one pure serving of fruit and they’re the perfect size – small enough to be eaten as a snack but large enough to take away any hunger between meals.
A couple key points:
- There’s one serving of fruit per bar.
- They’re hypoallergenic – gluten free, wheat free, dairy free, soy free, and peanut free.
- No added sugar or artificial flavors.
- Each bar is dusted with baobab, a super-fruit from an African tree known for its antioxidant properties.
- Each bar contains chicory for added fiber.
- They’re good!
The bars come in three flavors – mango, apple and cherry. All three bars have short ingredient lists, only 70 calories and a chewy texture and sweet flavor, similar to dried fruit. I love dried fruit but find that it’s easy to overeat so I’m a big fan of having a bar like this to help with portion control.
I enjoyed all three flavors but the mango is my absolute favorite! No surprise there as mango is my favorite dried fruit as well. Raisins, cherries and cranberries are next on the list.
Currently you can buy OneBars through the OneBar website and in almost all Whole Foods in the Northern California area, specialty markets and corporations, including Google. <– I thought I’d throw that little tidbit in, just incase I have readers who work at Google. You never know, right?
Sarah kindly sent me the three bars to try and offered for me to host a giveaway where one lucky EBF reader would win a box (12 bars!) of whichever flavor they’d like to try most. So leave a comment telling me which flavor you’d like to try most to be entered to win! For an additional entry, follow both Eating Bird Food and OneBar on Facebook and leave a comment letting me know you’ve done so. The giveaway will last until Monday night at 11:59PM and I’ll announce the winner early next week.
Have a lovely Sunday friends!
**This giveaway has ended and the winner is Christine S. Congrats lady! Send me an email at eatingbirdfood (at) gmail (dot) com and I’ll make sure you get your bars.
