Happy Modern Family day!
I’m bummed because it’s not a new episode today. Oh well, instead of watching TV tonight, I can bake a batch of cookies! Today I have a guest post from one of my blogger friends, Danica. She’s sharing her recipe for Snicker Doodles! I have a feeling you all are going to love this one…
Hi Brittany Fans! This is Danica of Danica’s Daily and I am so excited to be a part of Eating Bird Food’s 2nd Annual 12 days of Cookies. I think that every healthy eating lifestyle should ALWAYS make room for a little indulgence. The BEST part about these cookies though is that they are low enough in calories that you can have more than one. If you LOVE cinnamon, sugar and a buttery cookie then you NEED to make these. Add this to your goodie bag and I am pretty sure everyone will love you for it.
Snicker Doodles
INGREDIENTS
- 2 Tbsp cinnamon
- 2 Tbsp sugar
- 1 cup butter, softened
- 1 1/2 cups sugar
- 2 eggs
- 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 tsp cream of tartar
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp salt
INSTRUCTIONS
1. Mix cinnamon and sugar together in a small bowl and reserve for topping.
2. In a medium-size mixing bowl, add butter and sugar and beat until combined. Add the eggs and beat again until light and fluffy. Sift dry ingredients together; add them to the egg/butter mixture and mix thoroughly. Chill dough one hour.
3. Preheat oven to 400°. Form the chilled dough into 1″ balls and roll them in reserved cinnamon and sugar. Place them on greased or parchment paper-lined baking sheets. Bake 8-10 minutes. Cookies will puff during baking, then fall, leaving a crackly sugar top.
Makes 6 dozen cookies, 2 Points+ per cookie
Thanks again for letting me share one of my Favorite Cookies, Brittany! Now, I am off to gobble up a few of these before I put them on my Holiday Baking Tray.
Happy Holidays everyone!

I love snickerdoodles! These look perfect!
Yum! Thanks for the recipe
I love the perfect simplicity of snickerdoodles!
Thanks for the nutrition info. It usually doesn’t slow me down when it comes to cookies, but it’s still good to know.
I do indeed love snicker doodles! Such a classically delicious cookie
I’m in the process of choosing my cookie selection for the christmas-giving season.
That’s the best feeling, when you can have a few cookies and not even feel guilty about it! Lovely guest post, the cookies look phenomenal!
As I said on danicasdaily.com, I absolutely love snickerdoodles! I first learned about them from my Grandma and my “Better Homes and Gardens New Junior Cook Book” (circa 1979). My mother managed to save my first cook book, and gave it to me this year, and there is still a food stain on the snickerdoodle page! I will have to try these for sure!
