Things I’m Loving Right Now

Happy Sunday. I thought it would be fun to do a post with a few items I’m diggin’ right now so here goes nothing…

a. First up, these green topped glass containers my Aunt and Uncle got me for Christmas. I was so excited when I opened them because I’d almost bought them for myself just a few weeks before. So glad I waited. :)

They’re perfect for storing my most used bulk items – rolled oats, oat bran, ww flour, qunioa and black beans.

b. My Lululemon Wunder Under Crop pants

Yes, these crops are the most expensive workout bottoms I own, but seriously they are the best! They fit perfectly and are super comfy. When it comes time to get dressed for the gym they’re the only pants I want to wear now. I literally get sad when they’re in the wash. (I wish I was kidding). I’m pretty sure I need to bite the bullet and buy a few more pairs, including the full length pants. Quite possibly another item to add to my b-day wish list. :)

c. Curried Egg Salad Sandwiches

I’ve been all about the curry lately- it’s just so good! I actually had one of these sandwiches for lunch 3 times last week.

Open faced with a garlicky kale salad (recipe coming soon!) and BBQ Kettle chips.

Or closed with a pickle on the side.

This sandwich is so simple it almost doesn’t need a recipe, but here’s one anyway.

d. Emergen-C

Every time I turn around someone I know is getting sick this time of year. I’ve been super lucky and haven’t caught any of the viruses going around and I can only attribute this to a healthy immune system and my habit of chugging Emergen-C at any sign of a cold. Imagine my excitement when the folks at Emergen-C offered to send me a few packets to try out! As it turns out they’re offering Free Samples on their website right now. If you’ve never tried this stuff (or even if you have) I highly recommend going over and signing up the free samples. It definitely helps knock out colds!

e. Buckwheat Granola

Buckwheat Granola.JPG

Yesterday I made Kath’s recipe for Crunchy Buckwheat Granola. Not only did it make our house smell amazing, but it tastes so good – super crunchy and sweet (but not overly sweet). Delish!

I followed the recipe for the most part but used sliced raw almonds instead of whole and the Chai Spice honey my friend gave me instead of regular honey. The spice blend of cardamon, cinnamon, cloves and ginger added such a nice flavor to the granola.

The list could go on but 5 is a nice number so I’ll leave it at that. So tell me, what are YOU loving right now? Are there any new products/ recipes I should be trying? Let me know in the comment section.

  1. I laughed when I read about your pants. I love my Skirtsports gear (coincidentally also the most expensive workout gear I have lol) and I get sad when they are in the wash too lol.

  2. I’ve been wanting those pants for ever now. Gosh, sometimes the most expensive workout ware is just worth it. Plus you look super cute in them! :)

Great recipe for the egg salad. I’ve never thought to add curry to egg salad but I can see where it would be so good!

  3. I love Emergn-C! As a college student, living on campus means being surrounded by germs all the time. I am definitely going to head over to the website and sign up for samples. Thanks for the tip!

  4. I love the lululemon website but haven’t bought any yet (too much $!). I’m loving spinning classes now, I went to my first class recently and have been obsessed since.

  5. Curried eggs sound amazing. I am such a cilantro fan! I will have to try this recipe. Also, nice tush. Haha :)

  6. Thanks for the link for the Emergen-C! I have heard of the wonders of it, but seem to always forget to pick it up at the store.

Also, your list has convinced me that yes, I do need some of those lulu pants…I have heard they are worth every penny – and every item I own by lulu has been proven that to me as well…so…

    THANKS! =D

  7. Those pants look fabulous. I want some! I really love great storage containers like those. And I want to try your buckwheat granola recipe.

  8. Oh, I love my Wunder Unders so much. Have you tried the groove pants? If not, DON’T. They are amazing and you will want them.

  9. Vitamin C has been repeatedly proven to do nothing to aid in the prevention of or dealing with the cold virus. It is solely placebo. Not only that, but even if I really did help you need to take a ridiculous amount of it /constantly/ because it filters through your body so quickly. Please! Please! Healthy-living bloggers STOP talking about Vitamin C as cold prevention.

  10. Love the reappearance of Chai honey! Perhaps I should have gotten some.. :)

  11. I have the full length ones and wear them all the time, though I should have gotten crops because mine scrunch so much because I am a midget haha. If only I was rich…went to lulu today with my mom and dreamed of owning everything. I really want the savasana wrap…

  12. Love those containers! I am in the process of overhauling my pantry, so i have a bunch of containers from the Container Store. I love the way my pantry looks these days:)
That egg salad sounds amazing! It reminds me of an egg salad recipe I saw in Clean Eating that also included apricots, orange zest, and carrots.

  13. Aren’t wunder unders wonderful?! Definitely my favorite lululemon pants to wear working out. They’re perfect with a tunic and boots for day, too; no one knows you’re wearing workout pants! :)

The egg salad looks super yum, and lovin’ the glass jars!

  14. Oh girrrl look at you! I love this post :) Thinking about the things that have been making you smile lately just puts a smile on my face too!

Hm… things I have been loving lately? Watercolors, the thought of warm weather, writing, walking outside, leftovers, my red planner, quality time with friends, Greek yogurt + amber agave, Popcorner’s kettle chips, all sorts of chocolates, and frozen mango chunks lol.

    XO!

p.s. that chai spice honey sounds like one of my dreams come true!

  15. Oh those little canisters are adorable, I love putting all of my dry goods in cute containers !

  16. I have those pants! I’ve only worn them once because they are sacred. :)

  17. I’ve had a craving for egg salad sandwiches for about a week now – perhaps today is the day!

  18. I LOVE my wonder unders….and what a fabulous name!!!

  19. I hear you on the lulus… also the wonder unders are fabulous! It took me a long time to give in to buying lululemon pants because I thought $90 was insane for pants I was going to sweat in…. then I tried the groove crop last summer and it was all over from there :)

  20. Lurve that granoler myself!!!

  21. I adore those jars!!!! Do you happen to know where your aunt and uncle purchased them?

Also, that egg sandwich looks to die for…definitely going home to try that recipe out! :-)

  22. I love those containers!

  23. I love my wonder unders! I wear them SO much in winter I think I may need a new pair :)

Those glass containers are so cute! I’ve got some from Ikea but need some smaller ones!

  24. Ahh, their Wonder Under crops are the BEST! Nike also makes some really great running crops/tights that are a little more affordable. I splurged on a pair/two of the Lulus, and filled out the rest of my workout drawer with the Nikes!

  25. Wunder Under crops are my favorite workout pants, too!! So comfy and surprising flattering for something that’s totally skin-tight. I have them in grey but I’ve been meaning to get the black, too…

  26. thanks so much for posting the link to get some emergenc samples! i haven’t used it in a while and it’ll be nice to get some for free! :)

  27. What is Nayonaise?
Ps love the pants. Gotta get me some

  28. You are too cute; I can’t wait to see you next weekend and give you a big hug…I’m dyin’ for those fabulous Lululemon Wunder Under Crop pants; I may have to ask for them on my bday next week, hehe… xoox Enjoy your weekend, Brit! xo

WOW, those lululemon pants look amazing on you! Your butt looks so round, tight, and sexy!

I am going to have to buy me some Wunder Under crops! :-)

  30. I haven’t eaten an egg salad sandwich since I was in like the third or fourth grade and I got ahold of a bad sandwich. It’s funny to me now, but I swore off them way back then for the next thirty years! Then suddenly my daughter starts wanting curry chicken for dinner every night and I’m thinking about making curried egg salad. Interesting how that works and then I stumbleUpon this! I’m not gonna lie though, I still get a little queasy thinking about eating egg salad, but this recipe looks so good I really want to give it a try!

  31. Danielle says:

Oh.my.goodness. I have NEVER liked curry. And while browsing your blog (which I am newly obsessed with, by the way…) I got super stuck on this egg salad recipe. Some weird gut feeling was telling me I needed to make it. And although I was sure I would hate it the whole time I was making it, I am in LOVE! You’ve made me a curry convert and provided me with an amazing new lunch idea! Thankyouthankyouthankyou!!!

  32. Loved the curried egg sandwich – such a quick and delicious recipe!
