Hi y’all – I’m back from Georgia, where Isaac and I spent the weekend for one of my best friend’s wedding! The cutest part about the whole celebration is that Beano and David, the bride and groom, got married at the summer camp where they met and all the guests stayed in camp cabins. It was a total blast to spend the whole weekend at the camp and to see two people so in love get hitched!
I took so many photos my memory card was completely full by the end of the reception, so to keep this short and sweet I’ll try to leave my commentary to a minimum (try is the key word here)!

Since we drove down on Friday we had all morning and a bit of the afternoon to explore on Saturday. We hiked, swam, and hung out by the creek…

Isaac loves this picture while I think I look like a confused little girl. I’ll let you be the judge.

The weather forecast was calling for rain and it was quite cloudy all day, but the sun came out just in time for the ceremony.

It was beautiful!

Vows were said, tears were shed, the groom kissed his bride and we all made our way over to the reception for a regular ol’ shindig.

Southern foods were served buffet style complete with deviled eggs and fried green tomatoes. I didn’t get to snap a photo of the tomatoes but they were served with a horseradish sauce and tasted amazing. I now know what all the hype is about!

Several different types of the salads, cheese biscuits, and pulled pork were also available.

The cheesy biscuits were really good, but I promise all 4 of them on the plate weren’t actually mine (I shared with Isaac.)
Doesn’t the bride look gorgeous? I love her!

I also loved these little wooden “name tags” that were strategically placed around the reception.

The ladies of the B-Hive, the name given to our apartment senior year.

Britt (yes, I lived with another Brittany) and Beano (yes, her name is Beano) were my room mates in college for 3 years! We grew to be best friends and despite that fact that we all live quite far from one another now, we are still close!

Had to get a shot of the mister and myself.
They went untraditional with the cake and served several different pound cakes, as well as blackberry and peach cobbler <– of course, I had to try everything! My favorite was definitely the peach cobbler.

Lovebirds

After the reception ended around 10 we all went to the after party – complete with an awesome DJ, more drinks and snacks. It was a crazy dance party until the wee morning hours. I’m pretty sure, this is one of the most fun weddings I’ve ever been to – actually the whole weekend was amazing! Congrats once again to Beano and David!
So after staying up late, sleeping at a summer camp with 15 others in the cabin for two nights, and driving for 16 hours; I am more than ready to hop into my own bed (after Next Food Network Star, of course).
Good night. I hope you had a fabulous weekend as well – I’d love to hear in the comments what you did.
-Brittany

beautiful photos!
What a cute wedding! I just read an article in the New York Times about the new idea of getting married at a summer camp – I think it’s totally adorable. I just made some mental notes since I’m planning my own wedding.
My weekend was fairly laid-back, which is great because tomorrow is a super busy Monday at work! Yikes!
I love, love deviled eggs. I could eat 10+ of them easily.
Sounds like an incredibly cute wedding (but not “cutesy,” which is an important distinction!) and a good time to catch up with friends.
So many things to comment on…so many things to love! You and your boy are adorable together. I loved seeing the photographs of you outside on your hike. And yes…the bride is beautiful…and what a beautiful wedding to match. I love the way they served dessert (so unique and yummy!)
i like that pic too! you look kinda like a confused little girl but in a cute way…the bride also looks gorg! congrats to the happy couple!
I appreciate that a couple can have a wedding that feels just like them! I love the pic of you and Issac. Frame worthy for sure!
I love the style of the wedding!
The wedding looks so pretty! I love those little name tags too. Adorable.
I love your “confused little girl” picture! And what a gorgeous wedding – such unique ideas
wow thats a really unique wedding! awesome, looks like fun!!! the most exciting thing i did with weekend was make a goat cheese pizza this weekend (with kale!) and it was amazing!
That wedding was adorable! I love all the crafty touches and the fact that they had it at a summer camp. Plus, your friend’s dress is gorgeous. Really, really, pretty.
What a cute wedding! I love the idea of having everyone stay at the camp, and I loved the little wooden things (? not sure what to call them) — those are so adorable!
Sometimes hearing about such creative weddings makes me want to do mine over!
“Vowels were said, tears were shed, the groom kissed his bride and we all made our way over to the reception for a regular ol’ shindig.”
Considering I am still processing my coffee and am a little out of it and goofy right now, I laughed pretty hard at the “vowels” typo. I envisioned the bride and the groom chanting “a-e-i-o-u.”
Oh wow. As you can tell I’m not an English major. haha
I thought it was totally cute!
This is seriously the cutest idea for a summer wedding…I adore those wooden signs!
What a beautiful celebration! I am seriously thinking of stealing that lovebirds idea for my wedding someday:)
Hey!! The wedding looks awesome! The bride DOES look gorgeous
I love the idea of having it at a summer camp, how cool!!!!
I LOVE your dress! Where is it from?
What a whimsical little ceremony. You and your beau are very photogenic and ridiculously good-looking. I happen to be jealous of the name “Beano.” How neat.
Really lovely pictures! What cute bundt cakes
I’m so amazed you and your friends lived together for 3 years!! You three must be REALLY compatible roommates… or very willing to compromise…
looks like you had a wonderful time, I love the pics, and you do look like a little puzzled school girl too cute
Hey-
Looks like you guys had a great weekend! Beano did an awesome job with the details, so cute love it! See you at yoga tonight!
i just found your blog a few days ago and wanted to comment and tell you how much i love it! i’ve been trying to do some catching up on your posts. and i’m in richmond too, so it’s cool to see you write about familiar things & places!
the wooden medallions are such a clever touch!! the location is priceless and couldnt have suited the wedding better!! everyone looks breathtaking!! these photos are gorgeous <3
I love weddings that look comfy and down-home – the wooden medallions were pretty cute, and the idea of a summer camp wedding seems easy and low-key. Glad you had a good time!
what a beautiful wedding! I took a few mental notes =) You are next girly!!!
I would love to hear the origin/story of the name Beano, if you know it and are willing to share!
Beano’s real name is Kathleen. Her parents started calling her bean as a nick name and soon it transformed into Beano. Now she introduces herself at Beano at most social functions – unless its formal or work related. It has nothing to do with the gas medicine.
Aw, cool! My real name is Kathleen too, and my boyfriend’s nickname is Bean (real name Ben, so not much of a stretch there)!
