Thank you for all the birthday wishes- each of your comments made me smile from ear to ear and my day turned out to be quite fabulous.
To start off the morning right we went to our favorite coffee shop for breakfast. And, when I say morning, I mean 11AM. After such a late night on Saturday, it was a sleeping in kind of morning.
It was also a coffee kind of morning. LOVE soy lattes!

I ordered the Vegan Tofu Wrap for my meal.

The grilled wrap includes a tofu scramble with soy sausage and is served with a spicy salsa and fresh fruit. Seriously, the perfect way to start my day. So delicious and filling. I didn’t eat again until dinner!?!
We ate while being serenaded by some stringed instruments, which was awesome.

This is one of the reasons I love Ellwood’s Coffee Shop.

You won’t find these natural sweeteners at bucks.

We came home and got into cleaning mode. Cleaned the kitchen, did some laundry, and vacuumed. Our vacuum makes cleaning so fun, I seriously vacuum every other day now! Then I got to work testing out my b-day presents:
Put my mat into the sweet yoga bag that my friend got me.

Uploaded some music to my new (and much smaller) ipod that Isaac got me. I am super stoked about this gift as I am currently still rocking my ipod from 6 years ago. It still works just fine, but it’s quite large to be strapped to my arm. It probably added 2 lbs to my left arm during strength training.
In with the new nano, out with the old giant.

I plan to try out my new gadget by hitting up the gym for a little cardio and then use my bag by treating myself to a core yoga class this afternoon. Pretty excited about that!
For dinner we went to Puff Changs, what we call P.F. Changs.
We spilt the veggie lettuce wraps.

And I got Budda’s Feast, steamed with a brown rice and a little sauce on the side.

We hardly ever make it to Puff Changs because we have a ton of great restaurants so close to home, but whenever we go I get excited! Particularly for the lettuce wraps as they are so delicious!
My fortune was appropriate, no?

We were quite full right after dinner so we skipped dessert. While driving home I decided I wanted a sweet treat to celebrate my birthday so we checked out a new place in town, The Urban Farmhouse Market and Cafe. I was so excited after seeing on Twitter that this shop had opened. Too bad the staff didn’t greet us at all and there was nothing appealing about the cookies and brownies sitting out uncovered. Perhaps I missed it, but I didn’t see any of the devilishly decadent dessert they advertise on their online menu. We decided to leave and after that treatment, I’m not sure I’ll be going back. So disappointing.
Oh well, I came home and my own cake and ice cream: a VitaBrownie and banana ice cream. I heated the brownie in the microwave while pureeing 1 frozen banana in the food processor until smooth.

Each bite was filled with warm gooey chocolate and cold banana cream. It was so tasty and only about 200 calories- basically the best birthday treat ever.
I ate my treat while Isaac and I watched two episodes of Big Love. Twas the perfect ending to BirthValentine’s Day! I hope you’re v-day was just as sweet.
I’ll be back soon with the winner of the Kaia Food’s giveaway and an exciting kitchen experiment that I can’t wait to share. Happy President’s Day – if you have the day off, enjoy it!!

I love the lettuce wraps sooo much. I have been on an ongoing challenge to recreate them. They are amazing!
Looks like a great day- I need to start buying more bananas so I have some to freeze!
Love Buddha’s feast, so good! I have yet to try the Lettuce wraps though. Looks like a great birthday!
Glad you had a great birthday!
How do you get itunes to work with two ipods?
Christie,
It just syncs up like your first ipod. You name it, register it, etc. and then either add all the songs from your library automatically or add songs manually.
I love going out to breakfast! That soy latte and tofu wrap looks delicious. Glad you had a fun birthday!
That’s got to be one of the best fortunes ever!
Ahh, happy birthday!! Sorry I’m late :/
It looks like you had some amazing birthday eats. P.F. Changs is one of my favorite restaurants….but it always ends up turning into an overeating fest when I go
VitaBrownies + (banana) ice cream really makes for the perfect dessert. You wouldn’t for a second guess that it’s so healthy/low calorie…aka one of the reasons is perfect =)
Happy belated birthday!! I love PF Changs, and tend to be super annoying when I get a steamed Buddha’s feast. I order like, 4 sauces!
It may not be healthy, but the eggplant dish at PF Changs melts in your mouth and the sauce is really nice. Brown rice helps me rationalize that order (and their fried ma po tofu).
What a perfect fortune!
I get excited about PFs too, we go every time we’re in Florida for some reason haha?! Oh, some other local bloggers checked out Urban Farmhouse recently too – here’s their review in case you are interested: http://onecoupleskitchen.blogspot.com/2010/02/urban-farmhouse-in-shockoe-slip.html
Sorry you didn’t get a good vibe there :/ But totally glad you had a good dessert at home to make up for it!
So glad you had a great birthday!

Glad you had a great birthday!
Glad to hear you had a great birthday!!! The lattes looks so good.
Brownie and ice cream = heaven
Did you get a blue nano for your birthday? If so we both made the exact same iPod upgrage – old white clunker to sleek blue baby
Glad you had a great birthday!! Hope your 25th year brings you nothing but happiness!
I did. We are ipod twins!
So glad you had a great birthday Brittany – very much deserved!
Tried your heated-up, overnight oats today for the first time (a raw peanut butter and banana version) – amazing! Thank you for all of the fabulous, perfectly-portionned and easy meal ideas!
xo Jean.
What a perfect birthday!! Puff Changs and you b’day dessert look great. Love your new yoga bag.
Love your yoga bag!!
Those eats look awesome, too.
Glad you had a fantabulous birthday!
Happy (late) Birthday!!! Your fortune seemed very appropriate
I love all these birthday goodies and celebrations!! Everything looks yummy and super cute (especially that yoga bag!!!)
I actually didn’t now Urban Farmhouse offered desserts–I just knew about their pastries. I wasn’t a big fan of the scone I got there.. not really into buttermilk scones. Anyway, I think you should give them another chance
Eating the actual food there is totally different + their bread is awesome! Look at my last post and you’ll see what I mean
XO
p.s. I got a jar of coconut butter the other day (can’t believe I found it!!) and I tried it with the muffins I gave you. Good idea!!
Hey I’m glad you had a nice birthday! Happy Belated. I actually thought of you when I was in the card aisle because you get those rare Happy Valentines Birthday cards. My cousin gets the Happy Halloween Birthday cards. Haha. Anyways, I just wanted to tell you that all of your talk about this Ellwoods has inspired me to plan a road trip up to Richmond in September. My boyfriend and I are each putting away 10 dollars per week and by Labor day we’ll have enough money to take a long 4 day road trip up to Richmond to see Ellwoods and possibly try your favorite Thai place and hit up Trader Joes in addition to visiting the Carolinas on the way up and back. We don’t have one here in Jacksonville (a TJ’s). Also I’ve been looking for that mango salad that you have at our Thai places and nobody has it! Anyways, keep up the good blog work and let me know if there are any places that you can think of for us to put on the itinerary!
