Snowed In, Yet Again

by Eating Bird Food on January 30, 2010

Another weekend, another snow storm. There’s a nice tall blanket of snow on the ground, Isaac’s been sledding, Olive’s having potty issues again, and I’ve been bundled up inside for the majority of the day. When we woke up there was only an inch or two of snow. I mentioned to Isaac that we should go to the gym and he obliged. After 30 minutes on the treadmill, some WMM, and a relaxing 10 minutes in the sauna, we braved the snow storm and headed home.

I was famished and cold upon our arrival and stove top oats were calling my name.

The standard oatmeal/ oat bran combo topped with better n pb hit the spot.

Isaac was making eggs. I decided a wanted a little protein with my oats and had him cook me up an egg white.

Not the most appetizing thing I’ve ever eaten, but after topping it with some freshly ground pepper it tasted quite delish.

I took advantage of my snowed in state and began organizing things on my computer, mainly pictures and saved things. I found AIM conversations from when Isaac and I first started dating back in 2004 and realized that I am quite the digital pack rat. I must admit, they were really fun to read through. Did anyone else use DEAD AIM to log your IMs or am I the only one?

Sorting through my digital photos took a LONG time. I purged many of food pictures (over 1000) and put all the others in labeled folders! By the time I was done with that whole process it was time for lunch so I whipped up some left over b-nut salad.

I love this dish, even the left overs are super tasty!

The rest of the afternoon has been lazy. I caught up with a fellow blogger friend, uploaded photos to be developed, and did some online shopping – looking for a gift for Isaac’s 26th birthday. If you have any good gift ideas for men, please send them my way. I’m struggling this year with what to get him. He already has a PS3, what more could he need?

Speaking of gifts, look what arrived in the mail yesterday!?!?!

A Greek Yogurt filled Chobani lunch box? I am a huge Chobani fan and Greek yogurt lover so I really couldn’t have dreamed of anything better to receive on a Friday afternoon. There was a slight packaging issue and one of the yogurt containers had exploded inside the lunch box before it’s arrival. It was okay though, because 3 of the yogurts were still in good condition and I found out right away that the lunch box is really easy to wash out. :) I can’t wait to pack my lunch sometime this week in my new lunch box!!

I’m not sure what’s in store for the rest of the evening. Dinner is up in the air, but I hear there may be a birthday party going on at our neighbors house despite the snow storm so I think Isaac and I might go check that out.

I hope you’re having a lovely Saturday.

Glad you are having a fun snow day. Funny thing about Chobani, when they sent me a package a few months ago, I was so excited that I immediately grabbed a knife and murdered the box to get it open. Well, in the process, I also murdered some innocent yogurts! :( It was quite sad, and I almost ate 6 greek yogurts just because I didn’t want to waste them. They are sooooo good! The pineapple is my favorite! :)

Have a good night hun.

glad you’re having a good day, despite the weather! We’re snowed in, too, but I didn’t get any yogurt in the mail! :)

Hope you guys have a great night!

I never saved IM conversations between me and my husband, but I did save the 100s of post-it notes. I guess I’m a paper pack rat :)

Cute lunch bag!

For some reason, that bowl of oats is calling my name. Probably because it is 1 am and I can’t sleep and am feeling a bit hungry.
