iherb Shopping Spree Giveaway

by Eating Bird Food on January 25, 2010

iherb contacted me with an offer I couldn’t resist. A $50 shopping spree for me and a $50 shopping spree for one of my readers. Shopping sprees – yes please!! Now what is iherb again?

I soon found out that it’s an online reseller that carries close to 18,000 natural products, including vitamins, herbal supplements, skincare products, grocery items and more. This site is perfect for those living a healthy life style, especially if you have trouble finding specific items locally.  The website isn’t fancy, but it’s very well organized. They carry many products and brands (including many that I buy and use frequently) at competitive prices with free shipping for orders over $40.00.

The site also offers a non-commercial encyclopedia of nutritional and herbal supplements. And, the coolest part is that you can even type a symptom into the search engine, say Cold Sores or Urinary Tract Infection and the natural products to prevent or help with these type of problems or symptoms come right up.

So what did I get on my shopping spree?

Nativas Naturals Trail Power – Raw Antioxidant Trail Mix (goji, golden, and mulberries)

Woodstock Farms Organic Mango Slices

Source Naturals Daily Essential Enzymes

JASON Ester-C Creme

I recently read in one of the health/fitness magazines I get that vitamin c is one of the best things to use on your face for anti-aging so I was super excited to find this product on iherb. I’ve already started using it by applying it before I go to bed at night. I love the smell and the creaminess of this moisturizer. Here’s to hoping it brightens my face and gets rid of all my wrinkles- YES, I have wrinkles!?! Word of advice- wear sunscreen and stay out of the tanning beds. I’m regretting what I did in my high school days now.

Of course, I’ve already dug into the dried mango slices and the Trail Power – both of which are things I’ve had before and love.

So how do you win a $50.00 iherb Shopping Spree yourself?

To enter simply leave a comment with what you’d want to buy with your $50 by Thursday, January 28, 2010 12:00AM EST. Gain an extra entry by tweeting: ( I want to win an @iherb $50.00 shopping spree from @eatingbirdfood http://bit.ly/8Xyrdi )or by linking to this giveaway on your blog or facebook account. If you tweet, facebook, or blog about it, please leave a separate comment letting me know you’ve done so.

I’ll randomly choose a winner and announce it on Friday January 29th! It should be a a nice little treat on Friday morning for whoever wins! Once the winner has been notified he/she will register to the iHerb website (which is super easy and I haven’t received any spam from them!) Once they’ve selected their items, iherb will take care of sending their products for free as well as shipping and handling.

As a note, I’m sorry but the giveaway is only open to US residents.

BUT, even if you don’t win you can still get $5.00 off your first iherb purchase by using the coupon code MUL327

The working day is over- I’m off to the gym and then coming home for pita pizzas. I’ll share my eats with you next time. Until then, let me know what you’d get on your shopping spree!!

I love Jason Organics products. Good to know the vitamin C cream works. I’ve tried other vitamin C creams/serums in the past and thought they improved my complexion.

I’d buy that, tea, omega-3 and chia seeds, which I keep meaning to try.

I always check cosmeticsdatabase.org for non-toxic health and beauty items, as the FDA doesn’t regulate what goes into these products, and thus into our bodies. Avalon Organics is one of the brands that has a lot of “clean” products, and iherb carries this line. They’ve also got several of the toothpaste brands on the Environmental Working Group’s list of safer products. I’d use the rest of the $50 I won on food items (of course).
