Although the sun wasn’t shining here at the beach today, the day was still full of relaxation, creativity, and deliciousness. I woke up to a gentle hatha yoga sess from yoga download, a non-fat cappuccino, and buckwheat pancakes. Doesn’t get much better than that!

Blueberry, almond buckwheat pancakes will pure maple syrup to be exact! I rarely make pancakes on my own but whenever I have them I always enjoy them. Perhaps it’s because I have them so infrequently?

The p.cakes were prepared by yet another chef in the house. I must say, having a house full of good cooks while on vacation is the best!!
After breakfast we made a craft run to Knitting Addiction, a yarn junkie’s paradise. I got some multicolored yarn to start a new project that I’m super stoked about- HOORAY for crafting!

For lunch, a quick spinach salad with cucs, artichokes, tomatoes, olives with hummus and taziki was suffice.

I also added a little carb action with a slice of pita bread and some of Mary’s infamous Crackers. (Sorry, they were camera shy today.)
The afternoon was spent reading, knitting, and RUNNING. I went for my first outdoor run since receiving the word from my doc (2 weeks ago) that I could try to run again. I’m happy to report that I ran for a good 30 minutes pain free!! Monument Avenue 10k here I come.
The whole gang went out to dinner at Ocean Boulevard. I ordered my standard restaurant fare- soup and salad. Not just any soup and salad:
A parsnip bisque sprinkled with parmesan, which should have been labeled pure deliciousness served up in a bowl.

And a vanilla pear, endive, candied walnut, and blue cheese salad. It was perfectly dressed in a sherry dressing giving it a great flavor that complimented the sweetness of the pears.

It’s a shame to know that we have to leave the beach house tomorrow. With that said I’m off to enjoy our last night here!
Riddle me this- Are you crafter? What type of projects do you enjoy?

I was just thinking lately about how much I’d like to learn how to knit. Glad you had such a relaxing vacation!
Gah I love Ocean Boulevard! (My fam and I go to OBX in the summa). Glad you had a good meal!
Love the artichokes on your salad. I am a huge fan and just made artichokes for Christmas Eve! I really am not crafty. Wish I was, tho.
I’ve always wanted to learn how to knit. You should do a video teaching us the basics!

Oh you knit?! Or are you just using yarn for something else fun? I love getting supplies for crafty ideas, too!

I really really really want to knit. Maybe you could do blog lessons?
I like the name of that place. Knitting is rad – I haven’t done it in forever though. I used to make scarves every year for Christmas gifts
