Let it Snow

by Eating Bird Food on December 19, 2009

Everyone always told me that Richmond never gets any snow. HA- I’m not sure I can believe them – I’ve been living here two years and we’ve had big snow storms (with over 6-8 inches of snow) both winters.

Perhaps I brought the snow???

Here’s the view from my back door.

And, remember my new blogging spot back in August?

Well, lets just say that it’s turned into a snow cake.

I love the snow, however it stinks that the storm came this weekend- I was suppose to go to my college roomie’s wedding today!! Considering all the snow we accumulated last night and the fact that it’s still snowing, I don’t think we’re going to be able to make it! :( Anna, if you read this, I hope you and David had a fabulous wedding day and here’s a big congrats and hug from me to you!!

I slept in until 8 this morning (so nice!), had some warming lemon tea and then made a quick bowl of cereal.

Kashi’s Warm Cinnamon Heart to Heart, a few Chex, 1/2 of sliced banana, and regular 2% (organic) milk. Had to get some fuel for playing in the snow or baking some goodies in the kitchen! :)

Do you love snow? What do you like to do when you’re snowed in?

I don’t like the snow at all. I hate shoveling and it only looks pretty for a few hours then it gets slushy and black. Yuck :(

I’m sorry you’ll miss your friends wedding. Better to stay off the roads though. I like to watch movies when I’m snowed in. Enjoy your day inside :)

Haha I like the ‘snow cake.’ It looks so cute. It is snowing big time here, too! Like 6-10 inches. I am so excited. :)

Love the snow cake!

I am doing a bunch of batch cooking today which is what was on the agenda anyway. But, I did miss my yoga class :(

I grew up in Chesterfield County outside of Richmond, and snow is a funny thing there! Every few years we got a big storm, but this year might be the most they’ve had in a decade!

I live in Norfolk now and we’re just getting rain :( Makes me sad! Enjoy it for me!

I’m snowed in today, too (in Philadelphia)! My yoga class was cancelled and I was supposed to head home to bake cookies with my mom, so I’m just doing laundry, painting my nails, and having a movie marathon today :)

Hey Brittany

Looks like you got some SNOW! I am in MA waiting for the snow to hit, if it does at all, you never know here!

I like to watch movies, get in comfy warm pjs and hangout!

Happy weekend,

The snow is SO pretty. We used to live in Stafford, VA and the first year we were up there is snowed a lot. We are originally from the south so we loved it!

Sorry you had to miss your roomies wedding. Our plans got nixed this weekend too, but to be honest, I am kind of enjoying the snow day at home. ;)

Have a great day Brittany!

I am kind of surprised that you got all that snow in VA! It is slowly starting to move here to Massachusetts!
