It was rather chilly again this morning when I woke to take Olive outside. It totally made me want to make pumpkin oats, but alas, I didn’t have any canned pumpkin so I made a combination of oatmeal, oat bran, raisins, and cinnamon. I topped it with crushed walnuts, Artisana’s walnut butter and Cacao Bliss.

The delicious toppings totally made up for not having any pumpkin. I’ve been thoroughly enjoying my Artisana samples. The unique nut butters- such as the walnut butter are the perfect way to dress up my oatmeal and they’re so tasty.
I’ve also been enjoying the Artisana raw coconut oil – and for more than just my eats. I read that coconut oil is great for your skin so I decided to test it out. I consider myself very lucky as I’ve always had pretty clear skin (even through the teenage years) but just recently I’ve started to get little fleshed colored pumps on my cheeks and along my jaw line. They aren’t super noticeable, but I still notice them. I went to a dermatologists and she said it was acne and gave me samples of a super expensive acne cream. My insurance didn’t cover it plus I realized from that samples that it really dries out my already dry skin. After reading that coconut oil is good for dry skin I took it upon myself to try out the coconut oil as my nightly facial moisturizer. A tiny bit goes a long way. I love the coconut smell and by morning my face is completely hydrated yet not oily at all. The bumps haven’t completely went away (it’s only been about 1 week), but my skin is super smooth and I feel the bumps are less noticeable. Although I am loving the coconut oil, I wouldn’t recommend it for someone who has oily or combination skin.

Here I am with my latest beauty obsession. Please remember this photo was taken at 7:00AM before make up or hairstyling.
Does anyone else use coconut oil as a facial moisturizer or for any other beauty purposes?
Speaking of which, I was considering doing a post of the beauty products that I like- let me know if you all would be interested in that at all.

at 7:00 AM before makeup or hairstyling, you’re still drop dead gorgeous.
Your breakfast sounds AWESOME! I love this weather
Giiirl, I use coconut oil for sooo many things! Besides the fact that it’s super yummy on cinnamon raisin toast.. mixed with red daal blah blah blah.. I also use it as a makeup remover, moisturizer for rough spots, and last but not least.. on my hair! My mom has a whole book on it’s wonders.

I have been wanting to try coconut oil in the kitchen, but didn’t realize it’s extra benefits on the beauty front… hmmm now I am thinking I must explore this product for sure!!
Bring on the beauty info! You CLEARLY know what you are talking about
I am dying to get my hands on some coconut oil for this EXACT reason!!!
Cold weather always makes me crave oatmeal!! Those nut butters sound fabulous!
I would have never thought to have used coconut oil as a moisturizer. I will have to try this!
hey there! I’d love to hear about the beauty products you use; I’m always looking for the next big thing! I’ve been wanting to try coconut oil for a while, but haven’t been able to find it……well, I haven’t really looked that hard either, lol. Right now, I’m using Avocate Skin Glow “oil”. I don’t think I’ll buy it again when it runs out, so maybe I should find some coconut oil!
I’ve heard a lot of great reviews of using coconut oil as a beauty product but haven’t tried it myself. It sounds awesome though and coconut is a great smell
I’m always searching for new Beauty proucts. I’m actually looking into oragnic or natural products bc my regime is not working for me right now.
i am looking forward to the winter, when i’m planning on using some coconut oil as a moisturizer after a bath. i have very oily/acne prone skin so i don’t think i should use it on my face. i wonder how it’ll do for dry hair?!
I never heard about coconut oil being good for dry skin. Thanks for the tip!
By the way, you look just as lovely without the makeup/hairstyling!
Coconut oil seems very versatile. Too bad it’s so expensive.
I’ve been breaking out more lately too. I heard that as you approach 30, you can have another bout of acne, although I don’t know how old you are.
you look better than I do at 7 am!
I haven’t tried coconut oil at all yet, either for smoother skin or in baking. I haven’t been able to find it, actually.
I love coconut oil; it’s amazing, isn’t it? I always use it in my baking! Enjoy.
I have yet to try out coconut oil, either for cooking or skin. I do tend to get dry skin from time to time, and have yet to find a moisturizer that I truly like that doesn’t aggrevate my skin. Perhaps I should check it out.
coconut oil???? my brain is tingling! Too bad I have hardcore oily skin
Your skin does look great! I think I’m too oily to use it on my face but would def. consider it for my feet and other areas that get crocodiley in the winter.
Plus I want to try cooking with it! I hear it’s better to use at high heat than olive oil.
I have heard that it’s great for the skin! MMMM I love coconut smell–I’m going to have to pick some up and give it a try.
I am in love with coconut oil! Especially Artisana brand, they make really great products. My sister and I use coconut oil for just about everything. We wash our faces every night with coconut butter. Great for eye make up removal and skin lotion. Just tried it as conditioner for the hair today, not sure what to think of it yet. It was a little hard to wash out completely, my hair looks a little greasy! HAHA
What a great beauty tip! You look pretty amazing at 7:00, did you know?
Don’t you love natural stuff like that?
I remember reading about someone’s Italian mother and how she always rubbed olive oil on her decolletage at night. I’ve been known to do the same.
You are too sweet- thank you Pearl!
