A Grand Idea

Uh-Oh! My jar of Cacao Bliss has vanished!

What’s a girl to do?

I’m not going to lie, the first taste of Cacao Bliss I tried I wasn’t that impressed. The flavor was intriguing but not wowing. My tastings didn’t end there- I tried it with oatmeal one morning and started loving it. It’s the perfect combination of coconut and cacao chocolatey goodness. And, did I mention it’s vegan and raw?

After a couple bowls of banana oats and one whole wheat tortilla smothered in Cacao Bliss, my little jar is gone! :( That needs to change pronto.

In other news, Isaac and I have been eating leftover Chimichangas for a few days now. We had 2 and a 1/2 left after dinner on Wednesday so we both ate one for lunch yesterday and I am eating the other 1/2 for lunch as I type this. I’ve been toasting mine and serving them with a side of avocado and they’re still just as tasty as the first night.

I thought this photo was appropriate because you can actually see what’s inside.

Yesterday was a great mail day- I received a visit from the Chobani fairy. I’ve had Chobani yogurt before, but I am super excited to try the new pomegranate and pineapple flavors. I plan on bringing one back to the office for a mid-afternoon snack today!

Don’t hate on the yellow fridge- it’s vintage. Plus it shouldn’t matter how it looks, it’s what’s inside that counts, right?

I also got a package from The Healthy Apple. She was such a sweetie and sent me some Larabar Minis. Thanks again Lady!!

I’ve received some free minis before (at a half-marathon) but I was so excited when I found out that LB had started to sell these babies. With most of the minis weighing in around 100-120 calories, they’re perfect for a mid morning or afternoon snack.

Of course I had to put one of my favorites in the middle- Coconut Cream Pie! As I was putting these in a bowl for the photo shoot I came to the conclusion that mini Larabars would be the perfect thing to give out to kids for Halloween instead of candy! We don’t get a ton of trick-or-treaters in my neighborhood so I think I might actually be able to afford this. I usually just try to buy “the good candy” meaning the variety pack of Hershey candy bars and Reese’s, which are coincidentally not so good for you. And like I said we don’t have a lot of kids come by so then I’m left with a big bag of candy. I don’t want to be the creepy house giving away apples that the kids think are poisoned so Larabars seem like the perfect solution. What type of candy do you normally give out for halloween?

Hope everyone is having a great Friday!

I’ve been drying to try the pineapple Chobani. It sounds so yummy! We give out the “good stuff” for Halloween. My finacee loves that kind of candy and he’ll polish off what we have left. I always want to bake cookies or something, but I’m afraid they’ll go to waste. My mom never let us eat something that was homemade…she didn’t trust where it came from.

My mom was the same way. The strangest thing I ever received when trick-or-treating was a pack of Ramen Noodles.

I know the Katie from chocolate-covered Katie is having an artisana butter giveaway :D

I didn’t get to comment on your last post, but those chimichangas look awesome! By the way, what brand of tortilla is that?

The tortillas are nothing special just La Banderita whole wheat tortillas from kroger. I have to admit that they are really tasty though. Soft and delicious.

What a LUCKY GIRL you are! How fun to get such great things in the mail! Maybe one day I’ll be so lucky myself! I personally LOVE Larabars. The Cashew Cookie is my personal favorite, and I love the mini’s too. I pretty much love anything tiny and cute and snack-size. Hope you have a great weekend!

Jane- I haven’t seen the mini larabars in stores near me, but they sell them online. Just search in Google and you should be able to find a place to purchase them.

Brittany, I love the new design of your blog. Mini larabars are such great lil snacks. I like to keep these in my purse. I think I’ll mix in some mini larabars with halloween goodies this year.

That’s a brilliant idea! I love it to death! We usually give out the crappiest, worst stuff out there – I buy whatever is on sale. I can’t believe how much candy kids can eat without having a body system breaking down, seriously. It’s just crazy!
