There are a ton of pizza joints in every city (including Richmond) but after hearing about Pizza Fusion‘s highly organic menu, veggie options, and eco friendly practices I knew I needed to try out this new chain.

The Pizza Fusion is Richmond is located in the West End in the shopping center with Trader Joe’s. We were heading that way to play putt putt so it seemed like the perfect chance to give this new spot a try. From the outside it looks like a small space for a sit-down restaurant, but there were plenty of seats, as we were seated right away. The menu is packed with organic ingredients (signified by green font color), all natural ingredients (signified by black font color), vegan soy cheese, and gluten free options. I was extra excited to see they offered a multi-grain crust. To sip, they had a wide variety of Honest Tea beverages and organic wine and beer.
Of course this eco-friendly restaurant recycles, but some other random information I found interesting is that the Pizza Fusion delivery drivers use hybrid cars, they have water preserving toilets, and the insulation for the building was done with used blue jeans. Talk about an eco-friendly company!
I had a hard time choosing what I wanted to have because everything on the menu was calling my name. I ended up ordering half of a salad and a pizza to split with the table.
ROASTED BEET & FETA
Arugula, beets, feta, candied walnuts and roasted red onion. (with goddess dressing)

The salad was delicious and I would definitely order it again! Although, next time I might switch up dressings as the goddess wasn’t the best to pairing with this particular salad.
FARMER’S MARKET PIZZA
A farmer’s medley of roasted artichoke hearts, red onion, roasted zucchini and roasted Portobello with tomato sauce, mozzarella, provolone and parmesan. (We ordered it with soy cheese and multigrain crust)

The oblong pizza came out fresh from the oven, cut into 8 square slices (elementary school cafeteria pizza anyone?). Overall, I loved the veggie toppings- everything was super fresh and the thin and crunchy crust was just to my liking, but honestly there wasn’t much flavor to the pizza and it tasted quite bland. I tried adding some garlic salt and crushed red pepper without much gratification.
The meat eaters at the table ordered the GREEK PIZZA
Kalamata olives, sliced roma tomatoes, tomato sauce, feta cheese, mozzarella, provolone, parmesan and parsley. Zeus would approve. (with added pepperoni)
They loved it and said it was more flavorful than the Farmer’s Market, so if I end up visiting Pizza Fusion again, I think I’ll choose something else- perhaps the original version of the greek sans the pepperoni.
Overall it was a healthy dinner considering we were eating at a pizza place and I really like the mission behind the company so I think I’ll probably try it again sometime. Have you been to Pizza Fusion either in Richmond or in your area? What did you think?
PS. After pizza we went with Isaac’s family to play putt putt and guess who won- ME!! Guess all those years hanging out with Mr.Woods working at a golf course paid off.
Actually I’m not a super competitive person, but putt putt is one game that Isaac has never beat me at so I like to rub it in.

Wow, that sounds like an awesome restaurant! I love how environmentally friendly it is. That pizza looks delicious, disappointing that it didn’t have much flavor though. Congrats on your putt putt win too!
Sounds great!
Hooray for putt-putt
That looks fantastic! Pizza Fusion needs to come to my town!!
I’ve been thinking about making a trip to Richmond soon. It’s only an hour or so from where I’m living now. I’m going to add Pizza Fusion to the list of places I want to check out.
Aw sorry the pizza didn’t taste too exciting
It looks really good though! I’ve never been to a Pizza Fusion but I do know a lot about Papa John’s lol…. their garlic butter sauce is so tasty. Congrats on being the putt-putt queen! That is too much fun.
mmmm that pizza sounds great! I love it when I go somewhere and they offer whole wheat crusts!!!! I’ll have to see if they have a Pizza Fusion anywhere near me. I don’t think so, but it looks absolutely delish!!!
Yum! I had some healthy vegan pizza of the weekend as well! Geez, between the figs and pizza, you and I sure on the same page lately!
Never heard of a place like that but now I want a slice
Mmm it looks lovely! I have a friend from Richmond, I’ll ask her if she’s tried it!
As an aside, I once referred to her home state as WEST Virginia (some West Coasters don’t know the difference) and she definitely reamed me. Oops!
I keep hearing about Pizza Fusion and wish there was one in NY! It looks soo amazing!

Wow !! That sound interesting.
If I go to Richmond, I will go for sure.
Erin- You should come visit your friend here in Richmond, AND then visit me.
You definitely should! And the best part is that it’s right near Whole Foods and Trader Joes!!
