I was up and at it early this morning because I attended my first ladies boot camp group (found on meetup.com). It was nice. About 9 people showed up and we went for a trail run. I was a bit apprehensive because I have a tendency to trip whenever I run (or even walk) on trails. Today was successful though because there was no falling involved. Woo-hoo. After the run we hit up the Forest Hill farmers market. The selection looked great but I forgot two farmer’s market essentials- my camera and cash. :/
All in all the meet up was fun and I met some cool ladies. Hopefully this group will help me on my mission to get out more and meet some people in Richmond.
I was starving by the time I got home. I was also hot and sweaty so a smoothie sounded perfect. I didn’t intend to make a green monster- I’d actually poured the banana pineapple smoothie in the glass when I remembered we had a bag of fresh spinach. I put the smoothie back in my vita-mix, added the spinach and had myself a nice tropical green monster.

Tropical Green Monster
- 1/4 cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk
- 1/4 cup water
- 1 frozen banana
- 1 tablespoon chia seeds
- 3 cubes of ice
- 1/4 cup of pineapple chunks
- 1/2 scoop vanilla protein powder
- handful of spinach
Put all ingredients in a blender and blend.
Here I am enjoying the post run green monster.

This will give you all an idea of what I’m working with in my all eras kitchen. I’m pretty certain the decor is from the 80′s, the fridge is from the 70′s, as it’s called the Princess Series and has an ugly yellow interior and please note the 1950′s tiny white oven and stove top. Let’s just say that my kitchen is vintage.
I’m excited for tonight because one my best girlfriends is coming to town. I can’t wait to see her- we have a lot to catch up on as she recently got engaged! It’s crazy actually- both my best friends from college got engaged within 30 days of one another! I foresee lots of weddings in my near future.
In other news, EBF can now be found at www.eatingbirdfood.com- please update your google reader. ALSO- Gina (The Fitnessista) recently updated her blogĀ (it looks awesome, btw) but for some reason the feed isn’t working properly in google reader. So just make sure you re-subscribe in order to get her new posts!!
Have a lovely weekend folks!

Haha I actually love that kitchen’s decorating! eek!
Woohoo for no tripping! Sounds like a great meet up – bummer about the no cash/cam for the farmer’s market though!
At least your kitchen isn’t rocking the horrible 90s decor! I watched House Hunters once and this house was decorated in white, pink, teal, and silver – ughhhh what were they thinking?!
Loveeeee your blog! You are just so cute and I love the beautiful pictures you take.
That green monster sounds banging–I might have to add some pineapple to my green monsters soon. It is time for me to “spruce” them up a little more.
Your kitchen looks so cute! i love

I just discovered meetup.com. It seems like a great way to find interesting groups.
I am totally checking out meetup.com right now! Thanks for the good tip.
I never have cash on my either, but my farmer’s market has a credit card stand where you just swipe your cc and it prints out a ticket you give to the booth where you just bought your produce! Saves me every time.
I need to check out meetup.com to find ppl in my area interested in fitness. I need more fitness friends.
Ooo I’ve heard about meetup.com. I should look up some of my interests and search for people in this area
Sounds like fun!
And don’t you just love that about places in Richmond? They manage to fit in so many eras in one place.

I think that is one of the best pictures of you ever
Your kitchen is eclectic. I love it!
That’s awesome. I was so bummed that I didn’t have cash, however I don’t think our farmer’s market is that advanced… at least not yet.
