Ginger Thai Taste is the first place that comes to mind whenever Isaac and I are thinking about eating dinner out, and for good reason. I’m pretty certain it’s the best Thai restaurant we’ve eaten at here in Richmond- the food is delish and the friendly staff is always there to serve us with a smile. Plus as an added bonus, it’s walking distance from our house. So last night we ended up taking some of Isaac’s friends, who had never been before, to one of our favorite restaurants in Carytown.
I started with a glass of Australian Shiraz as I perused the menu. Whenever I eat Thai out I always seem to get the same thing. I debated on trying something new last night, but then decided to stick with what I love.

Isaac and I split the fresh shrimp spring rolls with peanut dipping sauce. If you’ve read my blog for a while you probably know that I’m obsessed with these little guys. They’re easy to make at home, so I really shouldn’t ever pay for them when eating out, but I usually can’t resist.

The roll was particularly delicious last night as the basil was fresh and bursting with flavor.
For my entree I ordered the Thai green papaya salad (without fish sauce b/c I hate the smell!). The salad has chopped green papaya mixed w/ chilies, lime juice, sugar, fish sauce, peanuts and tomato on a bed of lettuce. I LOVE this salad so much- I’ve even made my own version before.

I ordered the salad medium spicy and it was perfect. I have ordered it hot before and ended up sweating the entire meal. Last night I decided to stay dry. Isaac on the other hand doesn’t like to leave a Thai restaurant without crying from his dish being super spicy, so he happily had a better sweat session than I usually get from working out. The new comers licked their plates clean and everyone left happy. Exactly why we always want to go back!
So this post ended up being a tribute to Ginger Thai Taste, but it’s highly deserved. If you ever visit Richmond and you like Thai food, you must stop in and grab a bite!

My boyfriend and I went to PF Changs once and he ordered the spiciest thing on the menu. The waiter actually told us that the chefs hated making this dish because it affects the whole kitchen. Needless to say, my boyfriend was sweating profusely throughout the meal.
Looks like a fabulous restaurant. I love reading restaurant reviews!

Those shrimp spring rolls look amazing. I normally order noodle or rice dishes when I get Thai… thanks for the inspiration.
So envious of all the goodies you received in the last post; been looking high and low for the PB&J flavor. Anywho, I’m a longtime reader and public health student who just started a blog of her own: http://masteringpublichealth.wordpress.com ~ give a visit if you have a minute.
