Pucker Up Pumpkin Lips

Thanks for all the great comments of what to do with the Falafel Sunshine burgers on the post before last. I can’t wait to make my own sauce and serve it up in a pita, true falafel style.

In other news, Casa EBF (EatingBirdFood) isĀ  still serving up smoothies for breakfast.

Proud to be keeping my title as smoothie queen – 3 days in a row, which the same delish combo. (a little rhyming action going on).

The latest and greatest smoothie addiction:

  • 1 scoop chocolate protein powder
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened almond milk
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 cup of frozen blueberries
  • 1 frozen banana
  • 1 tablespoon chia seeds
  • 3 pieces of ice

= one tasty purple smoothie (approx. 340 calories, 8g fat, 22g of protein, , 54g of carbs, 13g of fiber, 166mg sodium, 28 grams of sugar)

With my smoothie I’ve been toasting up a piece of ezekiel sprouted grain bread and spreading on a little crofter’s super fruit. This was the Asia variety with YUMBERRIES.

YUM!

Yesterday I had quite the hankering for Pumpkin Pie in a Bowl. I used Gena’s recipe as a guide this time, although I still didn’t have a butternut squash on hand so I stuck with raw sweet potato.

IMG_1290.JPG

It was heavenly per the usual. Did I mention that I am in love with this soup? The best part is that I didn’t have any tummy issues.

So you know the whole “glow” that you are suppose to get from raw foods- well I don’t know if this counts, but check out the glow around my lips after eating the pumpkin pie in a bowl.

I have a small case of pumpkin lips. Carrot juice stains and the pigment does not come off easily- that’s for sure. The first time the pumpkin lips occured was after I had drank some plain carrot juice, Isaac came home and the first words out of his mouth were, “What’s wrong with your lips?”

For this reason, I usually I try to have the pumpkin soup on nights that I don’t plan on going out after dinner. Wouldn’t want any concerned citizen to think pumpkin lips were contagious.

Pucker up! I wonder if I can convince Isaac that pumpkin lips are sexy.

Other random eats I have been munching on lately include. Tuna salad with red onion on a bed of romaine with avocado and sliced zucchini.

Some Golden Inca Berries

Carrots and almond butter

And, massaged kale salad minus the oil, with a ton of nutritional yeast.

That’s all folks. It’s Friday and I’m happy for that, however I’ve got a lot of work on my plate this weekend. Anyone else have any big plans?

Hey gc- the inca berries are good. They are quite sour though so it’s unlike raisins I can’t really eat one right after another. I wrote a post about them here.

I totally didn’t see the orange glow until you puckered up ;) I get carrot stain on my hands when I cut up carrots, and it lasts all day as well.

I love that cottage cheese. Don’t forget to stir. Most of the flavor is usually in the bottom! Love your blog! ;)

I think the color looks great on your lips! Very fashionable. I have tried this soup as well, and for someone with a very sensitive stomach, it gave me no problems at all!
