Chopped

by eatingbirdfood on June 16, 2009

Midterm Monday went well and I got an A on my first nutrition exam. oh yea! It probably had something to do with all the brain food I ate today. Starting off with a big bowl of chia oats – same ol’ combo except today I added in some dried cranberries and coconut. It was nice to switch things up a bit, but it didn’t really change the flavor and I would have been just as content with my plain bowl.

For lunch I did something I hardly ever do- I ate out! I was craving something different from the norm so I went to Subway and got a Veggie sub with pretty much every vegetable they offer and a little of the sweet onion and honey mustard sauces. I think this is the second time since I’ve started my job that I have actually went out and spent my own $ on buying lunch. My normal lunch routine is to walk home, play with Olive, and make something to eat.

I came home, took my mid-term, went to do a quick cardio sess. When I got home I was STARVING so I quickly put together a “throw it all in” type of salad. It had romaine, spring mix, tomatoes, local cucumbers from the farmers market, chopped pear, left over black beans that I had cooked for black bean burgers, avocado, and feta cheese.

And for the grand announcement I was referring to in my last post, as well as, an explanation of this post’s title.

Olive got her first hair cut!

She went from being this little ragamuffin who couldn’t even see… poor baby

To miss priss.

Doesn’t she look like a different dog? When we went to pick her up at the groomers there were a bunch of dogs running around and I didn’t even recognize her. I was like, hmm, “Where’s Olive?” Once we were in the car I couldn’t stop laughing at how funny she looked- I think I laughed the whole way home. Her head and ears just seem so big for her little body. She cracks me up. Plus, I like her hair on the longer side, but it’s our fault she had to get this shorty-short cut. We waited too long to get her first hair cut and it was pretty matted in some spots. Oh well, that was the big excitement this weekend in the EBF casa.

Hope everyone is having a lovely week!

Olive is adorable! I waited too long to get my doggies hair cut and he had some difficult mats that needed to be cut out, now he’s a bit patchy in spots!

Olive is adorable!! My sister and her husband brought their puppy Whiskey to the groomers this week and they banned him from coming back because he was a bad dog! The poor guy. He’s still a puppy so they are going to have to do some more training :)

EBF,

Hey Sweetie!

Hi! I found your blog through Heather Eats Almond Butter and just wanted to introduce myself before commenting because my mother instilled a very strict attention to proper etiquitte at a very young age. I’m Emily. :D

Now that I’ve satisfied my inner Emily Post I just have to say that If you like Better than PB you might like my latest creation-Pbu. It’s a recipe for a 30 calorie pb that’s totally natural. Yum yum. Sounds right up your alley! I’m loving your chia oats. Yum yum.

Do you mind if I follow you and add you to my blogroll?

Have a wonderful Thursday!

With Love,

Emily
