Always Wrapping

by eatingbirdfood on June 12, 2009

Yesterday was the bomb-diggity fo sho. I was busy at work, but got a lot done. I came home for lunch and helped myself to some delicious veggies.. some inside a wrap, some outside…

For the wrap I use Tumaro’s Soy-full Heart Wheat, Soy & Flax Flatbread. 200906120809.jpg

These were a present from Isaac when he went to the grocery store. When he goes shopping alone, he almost always buys me at least one thing (so sweet!!). Lots of the time the presents are food, but after bringing home a couple items with over 20 grams of sugar per serving and me being none to thrilled, he now knows to check nutritional labels and bring me home the good stuff. (oh yea.. I’m thinking he’s a keeper)

So, back to the point, I’m loving the Soy-Full flatbread right now. They are the perfect consistency, chewy, but not hard, and they don’t BREAK when you try to wrap your ingredients inside, unlike some other brands I’ve tried.100_3066.JPG

This wrap had a bit of laughing cow cheese spread, TJ’s goddess dressing, cucs, red peppers and avocado.

For a snack I brought this bar back to the office with me. I was in the mood for something sweet, and this was the easiest thing to tote along. I’ve said it before, but I like that the PURE bars have simple ingredient lists that are chocked full of “good for you” items. And, the taste of this bar was sweet and had good texture from the cocoa nibs.

What made yesterday so amazing is that after work I met up with Jessy from HappyVeganFace and went to BIKRAM after work. Can we say amazing. It was so fun to have a friend to endure the heat with with. I hadn’t been to this Bikram studio and I found that I liked this instructor so much more than my first experience. She was just really sweet, more relaxed, yoga-esque, and less of a drill sergeant. So basically, my second bikram experience went really well and I’m totally wanting more… YIPPEE. After sweaty like crazy, we went to Good Foods Grocery, sweaty spandex and all. I had never been there and it was awesome to see their bulk foods selection.. so much more than Ellwood’s or the Richmond Whole Foods! Great place to to stock up… and so fun!!

Off to work this morning…. have an awesome Friday and don’t forget there’s still time to enter the Crofter’s Superfruit Spread giveaway.

Actually I’m going to repost (the link is to an old blog) Oops!

Do you by any chance know if the bulk bins are cheaper at WF, Ellwood, Ukrops (Carytown), or Good foods? Thanks!

I’ve never heard of those tortillas. They sound great. I love wheat/whole-grain tortillas. They taste so much better than plain flour.
I bought some Pure bars recently. I can’t wait to try them.

I think we have opposite bar tastes.

What do you think of gnu, dr. weil, odwalla and clif?

Reply

Brittany June 14, 2009 at 9:24 am

hehe, maybe so. I actually haven’t tried gnu or odwalla. I’m not a huge fan of the Dr. weil bars, they are okay though. My favorites are probably clif bars and lara bars. What are yours favorites?
