Clean Eats

by eatingbirdfood on May 11, 2009

I haven’t done a full days worth of food for a while so I thought today would be a good day to feature everything. I’m doing the Summer Shape up and I think I did a good job at clean eating today.

I started with a simplistic breakfast this morning. 1/4 cup oat bran, 1/4 cup oatmeal, 1/2 banana, sprinkle of cinnamon, 1 cup h20, 1/4 cup unsweetened almond milk.

So filling and delicious. Mid morning I got a little hung. so I had a chopped fuji apple. I tend to eat apples way too fast when their only chopped into a few pieces so I decided to chop this one in smaller pieces so it lasted longer.

Monster salad with all the regulars atop home grown lettuce from Isaac’s parent’s garden.

Hickory smoked tofurkey, raw squash, tomatoes, banana peppers, and avocado. I also added a little Trader Joe’s goddess dressing after the photo. I also had a few roasted and salted almonds that came in a gift bag from the wedding.

Back at work, mid afternoon I ate a snack that I had packed from home. 1/2 cup of Friendship whipped 1% cottage cheese and 1/4 cup of TJ’s organic frozen blueberries. They had thawed a little bit while in the fridge. It was the perfect combination because I still don’t like cottage cheese completely plain (even the whipped variety).

After work Isaac and I went to the grocery store and then came home to prep dinner. I made tofu and bok choy stir fry. The bok choy is from Isaac’s parents garden too. I was really excited to get these veggies from them and I seriously can’t wait for the rest of the veggies which should be coming soon.

I used 1 block of frozen tofu sauteed with the bok choy, onion, organic tamari, and garlic. I also sprinkled on some Seaweed Gomasio at the end. It was delish.

After din I cut up a cantlaope and had a few pieces for a snack. I also had a few prunes. :)

Lastly, Olive thinks she’s a lion today, either that or she thinks she’s at a Japanese steak house and is trying hard to catch a little shrimpie in her mouth.
