Fabulous!

by eatingbirdfood on April 19, 2009

How’s your weekend going? Mine has been quite fabulous and today in particular has been lovely. Perfect warm weather, enjoyable company, and great eats.

I woke up to a bowl of oatmeal, oatbran combo cooked with an egg white and topped with a chocolate macaroon and some better n pb. This was quite delicious- I loved the coconut macaroon topping!

For lunch I met food bloggers Christie (What I ate Yesterday) and Jessy (HappyVeganFace) at PF Chang’s for lunch. I have met Christie before, but this was my first time meeting up with Jessy. It was a blast. I hope to see more of these girls in the future. At the Farmer’s Market per se. :) If you haven’t checked out these ladies’ blogs, please do. Christie uses her blog as a food journal but is also starting an Inspiration Series that will highlight quotes, songs, or stories that move her – she is also taking submissions for inspirations from readers. And of course she also features some delicious recipes!  Jessy and her (hubby/bf?) Dan are always cooking up lovely vegan eats and sharing their creations at HappyVeganFace. I hear they make some awesome bean burgers. I can’t wait to try one of their recipes.

For lunch I debated between the veggie lettuce and wraps and Buddha’s Feast. I ended up ordering the Buddha’s Feast Stir-fried with brown rice.

Yum! This picture turned out quite nicely. Outdoor lighting is a food bloggers best friend. As usaul Buddha didn’t treat me wrong and the meal was delicious!!

I shopped around the mall a little before heading home. To help with my mission of being more successful with my strength training, I decided to go pro and get a pair of training gloves at Dick’s (seriously who names a store this?). Anyways, here are my new spiffy gloves. I can’t wait to try them out. I’ll let you know how it goes.

I’m hoping these will allow me to do more reps because the palms of my hands hurt/start to form little calluses when I do a lot of weight work for my arms.

Once home, Olive and I went outside. I enjoyed the sunshine while Olive tinkled and I was munched on one of the best cookies eva, Ginas Blonde Macaroon.

Featured above: a little peice of heaven on earth (I’m not kidding). But you wanna know what a sweetie I am? I shared my macaroons with Jessy and Christie. I gave them each a blonde and chocolate to try!! It was hard to give em up, but I thought the best cookies ever needed to be shared with these two lovely ladies. :)

it was awesome getting to meet you today, Brittany! i had a blast getting to know you over a super tasty lunch – and thank you SO MUCH for the macaroons! i shared them both with dan after our dinner this evening – they were deeelicious and we especially enjoyed the blonde macaroon! mmmmmmmmmm!

keep us posted on how the gloves go in helping with your weight training. i’ve been considering getting myself a pair as my hands get a little torn up from the barbells, so i’d love to know how they work out! (and i have to giggle just a bit every time i drive by a Dick’s – i can’t help it. ahhhahhha!)

hope you enjoy the rest of your sunday, and i hope we can all get together again soon! yay!

Yay! I had such a nice time with you ladies!! We were like the PF Changs Popparatzi with all of our food photos :) And yes, we have to meet again soon for more foodie fun! I haven’t eaten the macaroons yet and plan to eat them today :)

I recently got gloves for my weight training and they have helped tremendously. I hope you find that they help you as well.

Also, just realized we didn’t get a pic of us!

Hurray for a food blogger meet-up! I loooove the Buddha’s Feast. I never would have found it had it not been for the blogworld…gracias, blogworld :)

Cool new gloves!

Thank you for your sweet comment on my blog yesterday. I am also the girl who hated running in HS, so this is pretty exciting to me!
