Jazzy

Where did the weekend go? I ask myself that same question every Sunday.

Oh well, this weekend was realy relaxing and we actually had a full day of sunshine and warmth. Sunday was kind of lazy, I just lounged around the house all morning. Since it was so nice out Isaac and I finally decided to wash my car. It was so dirty!! After my automobile was shining I headed to the gym. I felt so cool driving a shiny car… even the tires were glimmering.

Anyways, my breakfast was normal: oatmeal/ oat bran combo with a T of Better N PB. (I’m all OUT, dang it! I even went to TJ’s this weekend, but I forgot to pick some up.)

For lunch I had a small slice of leftover pizza from Saturday night and a strawberry spinach salad with poppyseed dressing.

This slice of pizza may not look that good in the photo, but let me tell you that it was fabulous, as it should have been considering it was a $25 dollar pizza! That’s $25 for a pizza with ONLY VEGGIES, mind you. Apparently the toppings we ordered were “specialty toppings” that cost $3.50 a piece. Wowza!

This pizza had banana peppers, eggplant, sun dried tomatoes and ricotta cheese. I had never had ricotta cheese on a pizza… ahh so good!

Later in the afternoon after the car cleaning session I had a snack. A JAZZ apple! The sign at Fresh Market said “If you like Honey Crisp Apples, you will love Jazz Apples!” I do LOVE Honey Crisp so I had to try the JAZZ variety.

Apparently, the Jazz variety is a cross between Gala and Braeburn apples, both originally grown in New Zealand. Jazz apples are sweet, crunchy and juicy. They are firm and have a rich sweet flavor. I loved it!

Since it was so nice out yesterday we decided to grill for dinner. I had an Amy’s California Burger dressed up on a Joseph’s lavash wrap with tomato, onion, spinach, and ketchup and a side of grilled Brussels sprouts!

It’s back to work for me. Hope everyone has a great MONDAY!

Honey crisp apples are THE BEST! But they are only available to me about 3 months out of the year!

I must be on the lookout for Jazz apples!

That pizza price is absurd! Why do they charge so much for veggies?! Glad it was worth it though :D

I love Galas (have them daily!) so I’ll have to keep my eye open for Jazz! I adore that salad combo! It epitomizes summer to me :)

Ooh, I love Honeycrisps apples! Must find myself some Jazzies!

Oh man, do I need to wash my car. It is beyond dirty, but it was cold and gross in Nashville this weekend. Definitely need a warm sunny day as I always manage to get soaking wet when I wash my car.

$25 for a pizza? Oh well, sounds like you really enjoyed it, and that’s what matters. :)

Congrats on your 10K PR. Awesome race!
