Rise and Shine my lovelies. I have a feeling this week is going to be wonderful.
I’ll start where I left off yesterday. I woke up LATE and ate my oats LATE and then putzed around the casa. Reading blogs, posting on my own, looking up lots of stuff online. It was a miserable wet day so I was really tempted to just stay inside all day! Around 1:30PM I finally got my butt in gear, packed a bag for the gym and got ready to go. Then I realized that I should probably eat lunch or bring a snack with me shopping or I would end up buying something to eat while out.
I grabbed this little whipper snapper. The White Chocolate Macadamia Nut is my favorite Clif Bar now, and I don’t even like white chocolate . Go figure.
I was hungry, hence the bite taken out of the bar before the photo.
I don’t usually eat bars for meal replacement but since I had eaten a large breakfast this was perfect for lunch. I shopped around and didn’t find much of anything. I got a shirt for myself and a shirt for Isaac, went to the gym for Sunday Stretch (ahhh.. relaxing), did 10 minutes of cardio and dipped out. I just wasn’t feeling it so I headed to Target and rushed home because by this time I was pretty hungry.
Pretty much as soon as I walked in the house I fixed up this salad with the only salad ingredients I had on hand: tomoatoes and spring mix with sweet poppyseed dressing.
And heated up my left over Indian- Baigan Bhartha. I also had a little left over WW cous cous and 1 peice of WW naan.
It was just as good the second time around! After eating dinner I was still pretty hungry- I guess because I hadn’t really eaten that much all day and decided to have a bowl of Kashi go lean, then some cottage cheese.
Last by not least, while I was at Target I picked up Jillian Michaels 30-Day-Shred workout DVD. I had seen it on a couple blogs, most notably Maggie’s and thought I should give it a chance. I’m not a huge workout DVD fan, but sometimes it’s nice to have a workout I can do at home. So I started with level 1 for Day 1 last night and overall it was a good 20 minute workout. It wasn’t too challenging, but also wasn’t easy-peasy, and there are other levels to move up to so I am happy with the purchase. I couldn’t get my HRM to work so I don’t have the calculations for calories burned, but next time I do the video, hopefully it will work and I will post that info. for you guys. I’ll also keep you posted on how I like it, if it gets boring, and how the other levels are, etc..
Anyone else doing the 30-day Shred? Hows it going?

INDIAN FOOD!!! Holy yum to the extreme.
Hooray for positivity!! Let’s make this a GREAT week, for sure
I’ve been doing the shred once or twice a week. At first I did it with soup cans because I didn’t have weights and it was tough. Now I use 5 lbs. I still haven’t done level 3. Also, I don’t usually like workout DVDs either, but it’s quick and I like Jillian from the Biggest Loser, so it works. Let us know what you think!
Best Clif in the world!! Kashi and CC are like PBJ, just meant to be together
I hope you do have a wonderful week!!
I did the shred was only once. My knees couldn’t take all of the bouncing around. We just bought the Power Sculpt DVD and liked that much better because it was just the weight training aspect.
i hope this week is wonderful for you!
Love the indian food!
Oh wow, Indian food is soo good! Love it!
I love 30 Day Shred. Level 3 makes me want to die at times, but I have survived all 3 levels many times, so I always push through it, and I’m always glad I did. I like to mix in all 3 routines into a week’s worth of working out. I hope you get as much out of it as I do! PS you can turn her voice off if you get tired of hearing the same comments over and over (Don’t you DARE think of stopping! lol).
I’m doing the 30 day shread also
I’m going to tryyy and do it every day but I bought the dvd and did it yesterday and I think it’s a good workout
Hopefully we’ll see results! I’m anxious to see how other people weigh in on their results and such. Good luck!
I’m so interested in trying the shred because I keep seeing it too!
I’m glad you at least got out of the house! Doesn’t it feel weird when you get in bed at night and realize you never left? That creeps me out!
Hi! I’m new to your blog, but I’ve been reading a bunch of other blogs for a while, and I really like yours too
Just thought I’d comment bc I got the 30 Day Shread DVD for xmas and have been doing it about 3 or 4 times a week since. I decided to start with Level 2 (don’t ask me why – thought I was badass?) and I use 5 lb weights. I am actually still on this Level bc I find it challenging enough!! I wear my HRM when I do it and tend to burn btwn 170 and 200 calories when I do it. It’s the perfect workout for me when I don’t have time for the gym, or when I want to get strength training/abs in before a run. I can definitely tell a difference in the tone of my arms, legs, and abs and have probably lost a few inches too
I’ve been doing the shred a few times a week (varying from 5 times a week to just 1 time depending on my mood) – I love it. It’s such a quick 20-minute workout. I do it on my own sometimes bc I wrote it out and I like having my own music
It helped me start running bc it got my endurance up.
I love the shred. However, it is brutal on my knees and have had to take a vacation from it. I don’t think the abs portion works them nearly as much as I would like, but my arms burn by the end.
LOL, I guess I hate/love the shred. Level 1 is fine, but Level 2′s squat thrusts kick my booty. I’m scared of Level 3. Yes, Jillian scares me. Of course, it’s easy for her since she mostly just talks instead of, ya know, working out during the 20 mins!
I have done the 30 DS twice through.
Just wait till Level 2 : )
I’m glad you have a good feeling about this week
That is such a positive outlook on a Monday – go you!
I’m so glad to see that you love WCMN!! It is definitely one of my all-time favorites, too!
That Indian dish definitely looks good. I just caught up on your last post – it’s so funny because I met an RD this weekend, too! She has been practicing for about a year and loves it so much. It was so interesting to hear some of her stories.
I need to get on this 30-day shred train! Once P90X is over, that will be my next challenge
I’ve just started the Shred, and so far I really like it. It’s challenging for me, and my heart rate gets going pretty well. I’m blogging about it (along with how impossible it is to lose those last ten pounds!) on my blog at http://thelastten.wordpress.com).
