Rise and SHINE

I woke up this morning and found this little ray of sunshine on the kitchen counter:

Such a lovely way to start the day- xoxos to Mr. Isaac.  Only one more day until the my BirthValentines ( That’s what I like to call it since I’m a v-day baby) celebration begins! Well, actually I think it might begin tonight, if I am feeling up to it. I have been under the weather with the right side of my jaw  v. sore. I went to the dentist yesterday without much success – he said my Temporomandibular joint was imflammed from opening my mouth too wide or eating something hard. He didn’t give me any medication and just said that I needed to eat soft foods, take advil, and put a warm rag on the sore spot.

I kind of thought it might be linked to sinus infection because I am also having cold symptoms – runny rose, sore throat, etc. but the dentist assured me that this wasn’t the source of my problemo.. I’m sceptical? Oh well. I’m don’t normally take advil but in this instance I’ve been taking quite a bit and trying to only eat soft foods. I’m lucky because I do like soup and oatmeal.. and frozen yogurt for that matter.

This morning both Isaac and I woke up LATE so I quickly showered and munched on 1 banana (not all 4 pictured below) with cinnamon raisin PB and some blackberries while getting ready. I also took a Nature’s Path Apple Cinnamon Instant Oatmeal Packet to work with me and heated that up when I got there.

Off to work on my company’s website and then home sweet home for a long weekend! Heck yes for President’s Day making my b-day weekend a long one!!

Love the roses!

How do you like that Nature’s Path oatmeal? What’s your favorite flavor? I see it all the time at WF but have never bought it.

Caroline- I like the Nature’s Path Oatmeal. I tried the variety pack that had:

Apple Cinnamon:
Organic rolled oats, organic evaporated cane juice, organic dried apple, organic cinnamon, sea salt, natural apple flavor.

Flax’N Oats:
Organic rolled oats, organic evaporated cane juice, organic flaxseeds, sea salt.

Maple Nut:
Organic rolled oats, organic evaporated cane juice, organic hazelnuts, natural maple flavor, sea salt.

Multigrain Raisin Spice:
Organic rolled oats, organic wheat flakes, organic evaporated cane juice, organic raisins (coated with organic expellerpressed canola oil), organic brown rice flour, organic corn meal, organic cinnamon, sea salt.

I really liked the Raisin Spice, Maple Nut, and Flax’N Oats. Apple Cinnamon was my least favorite flavor, but not bad by any means. Each one has 210 calories. They seem to quite a bit of sugar, but it keeps you full with the protein and fiber.

I like to have them on hand for days when I don’t have time to make stove top oats.
