I'm sleeping in….

by eatingbirdfood on February 17, 2009

Yes – so excited that today feels like Monday, but it’s actually Tuesday! Good way to start out the week. I’m going to make this post short because I just recently read this article and I want to try our their idea. What do you all think – has anyone found that getting more sleep helps to lose weight?

Yesterday I ended up extending the wasabi explosion by finishing off Isaac’s sushi for din. Fresh Market has some of the best grocery store sushi I’ve ever had before- YUM!

I may or may not have also had some Kashi go lean cereal with USAM (unsweetened almond milk) while watching Vicky, Cristina, Barcelona. Good movie with such a pretty setting, I want to visit Spain even more than ever.

This morning it was freezing again in our house. The warm weather last week had me thinking winter was over- guess not… dang it! To deal with the coldness I had banana oats – 1/2 cup of oatmeal, 1/2 banana, ground flax, 1/2 cup USAM, and 1 egg white.

Mid morning I had my first ever PLUMCOT. I had seen these along the blog world and saw they were on sale at Whole Food’s yesterday. This little fruit is v. yummy!

For lunch I had another item I’ve never had before:

00503

Another great Amy’s product: Vegan No Chicken Noodle Soup.  Can’t really go wrong with Miss Amy.

Mid afternoon I had some sparkling h20 and a clif z-bar. I had been missing me some z-bars. I love those little bars!

I went straight to the gymnasium for some elliptical action after work and then headed home again home again, jiggity jog.

Isaac was being Mr. grill master and Mr. b-nut baker. He had an Amy’ California Veggie burger  and butternut squash fries ready for me. I added some spinach, tomoato, ketchup, and a bit of a laughing cow chesse wedge to the top of an onion bun that he had toasted on the grill. So good!!

Lastly, I realized I’ve been slacking on my photos of Olive. She’s such a cutie.

Two product questions for you:

I’ve seen that USAM at WF for years now…what do you think of it?

I am intrigued by that La Croix…how do you like it?

I thought those fruits were called pluots? At least, that’s what I’ve always seen them labelled as.

Love the sushi. Must get sushi. Now. Well, not right now, since it’s 11:43 pm, but soon!

B-nut squash + plumcot/pluot (whatever it’s called, haha) = delish.

Caroline: USAM is what I buy as my staple milk now- I love it. It’s a tad bit sweet and only has 40 calories per serving. I would definitely recommend trying it. It’s cheapest at Trader Joe’s, but occasionally on sale at WF.

As for the LaCroix- I buy it to have around the house because sometimes I want something else to drink besides reg. water. I’m not a big soda drinker so drinking sparkling water kind of feels like a treat for me even though it’s really only water. I particularly like the lime, lemon, and plain flavors. If you like san pellegrino than you will like it.

Marianne: I had a plumcot (plum and apriot hybrid) and a pluot is actually a derivative of the plumcot, so not exactly the same thing. Don’t worry, I had to look this up on Wikipedia because I had no idea there were so many plum/apricot combos. Apparently there is also a aprium. who knew??
