Please don’t hate me! We did get Very Berry Frozen yogurt on Friday, but I FORGOT my Isaac’s camera. I can save myself though because we went to Very Berry a few weeks ago:
Friday nights fro yo looked very similar to the picture above. I had the NF coconut and the NF chocolate with different fruits on top (kiwi, blueberries, strawberries, and pineapple) The combo of coconut and chocolate fro yo was awesome and I highly recommend it.
Saturday AM we woke up and headed to Williamsburg for Isaac’s Ultimate Frisbee games. I ate some Kashi go lean with USAM and 1/2 scoop of protein powder. I also had a naner.
Isaac’s team lost both games they played, but it was still fun to watch. It was also quite cold despite the fact that I was wrapped up in a huge comforter. I felt like I was in a cocoon… While watching the game I snacked on a (new to me) bar: Goji Moji. It was pretty good, soft with bits of figs, dates, and goji berries. The texture of the bar reminded me of a larabar. I liked it, but there are other flavors of bars I enjoy more so I probably won’t be purchasing any more of these.
After the frisbee fun Isaac and I had planned to go to the outlet mall to look for a new purse. While on our way there we were hungry- we stopped a restuarant that caught our eye as we drove by: Food for Thought. I am so glad that we stopped here because it was delicious. I was tempted to order:
The ULTIMATE Vegetarian: Enjoy half a roasted spaghetti squash tossed with vegan basil or sun-dried tomato pesto sauce and topped with bruschetta tomatoes and pine nuts. Served on a bed of our jasmine mushroom rice.
I loved the reaturant after seeing this dish- I thought it was cool that they had spaghetti squash with vegan pesto sauce on the menu. I didn’t ended getting it, and instead ordered the soup and salad combo.
Normal house salad with house balsamic vinaigrette with blue cheese. I ordered the roasted veggie bisque. It was a bit spicy, filling, and delicious.
The second best part of the lunch was the bread they brought to our table: Sweet Potato Cornbread. I love cornbread so this combination was something I couldn’t pass up. It was so tasty. Next time I make cornbread at home I might try this variation, or maybe pumpkin cornbread?
For dinner we went over Isaac’s parent’s casa for Valentine’s and Birthday presents and dinner. We ordered Vietnamese from DaLat. I got the grilled shrimp/tofu platter which comes with rice noddles, lettuce, basil, cucumbers, carrots, peanuts, rice paper wraps, and peanut sauce. I love making the wraps- it was really good and I even have some left overs for today.
This morning I decided to have half old fashioned oats, half oat bran. I LOVED this combo. I think better than either of the two plain. I added the normal: 1/2 a banana, 1/4 cup of USAM, a dash of cinnamon. I added ground flax and topped it with a spoonfull of Pam Anderson PB: Better n’ PB
I also had a tiny slice of coffe cake. Isaac’s Mom made it last night for dessert. I didn’t have any because I was given an Endangered Species Dark Chocolate with Cranberries and Almonds bar from Isaac’s parents for V-day, so 6 pieces of the bar ended up being my dessert. We brought some of the coffee cake home and I decided to have a bite this morning with b-fast.
YUM!!! This picture is the whole piece we brought home, not my slice
I’m not sure what we are up to for the rest of Sunday. I want to go work out, do some laundry, go to the grocery, AND we have plans to attend an Oscar’s Party tonight!
Question: I have a subscription to Self Magazine that is about to expire. I can’t decide if I should renew it or if I should change things up and get another mag. Any suggestions for magazines worth subscriping to? I’m looking for good articles, good recipes, good tips and workouts.

Yummy cornbread – I be pumpkin would be fantastic! Have you tried the Banana Manna bar from Nature’s Path? It’s very good
The only magazines I buy are Glamour and Vegetarian Times – sorry I’m not much help!

I’m subscribed to Self, I also like Health, Woman Health and Fitness. I like them all!
Self & Women’s Health are 2 of my faves, along with Vegetarian Times.
Also, I’ve been (secretly) mixing oat BRAN with oat MEAL & love it more because I like the nutritional value of the bran but the chew of the meal.
yumsies!
Oh my gosh, everything looks amazingly delicious!!!
Delicious eats my dear!! What a neat place!
have you ever heard of http://www.rewardsgold.com? It always seemed like a scam to me but i filled out some surveys and they seriously give you one year subscriptions for free! I am getting shape and self for free through them!
That frozen yogurt looks great!
So does the coffee cake
I LOVE Self, so that’d be my top choice. I’ve had a subscription to Women’s Health though and that’s a really good choice too

Yummy weekend, I really like the idea of combining oats and oat bran!
I like Self, but I also think that Fitness, and Health magazines are both pretty good….I always follow along on websites too, so maybe just pick one magazine that you MUST have, and then read others online
Yum! Sweet potato cornbread sounds amazing! I actually just did a post on sweet potatoes today, but I think that tops all of my ideas:)
Oooh, sweet potato cornbread sounds like a great idea! And your vietnamese meal looks excellent.

I love SELF! I think its more about total wellness and not just looking good – which makes it a much better read for me
