Best Soup- EVA!

by eatingbirdfood on February 16, 2009

I’m loving President’s Day- It was so nice to wake up this morning and remember I had the day off.

My papa came down to visit last night and we had planned to go to PF Chang’s for dinner on my request. The wait was over 1.5 hours so we decided to head elsewhere. I contemplated and contemplated. It was hard to choose somewhere else because I had my heart set on PF Changs, but we ended up going to Carrabbas because I love their minestrone soup. I had a cup of the deliciousness and the Italian salad with the dressing on the side.

I love this soup so much that I once found a copycat recipe online and recreated it. Twas delicious – I need to that again on the stat. It ended up being late when we returned home so Dad decided to stay that night, which was fun. I love when he comes to visit. I’ve always been a Daddy’s girl. Rightful so, he’s a sweetie. And, he totally hooked me up for my b-day… lots of cosmetics:

I have a feeling someone helped him with this gift- makeup products have never been his forte. He also gave me some moo-la for the new digital camera fund… I’ve been looking for one, but haven’t picked a winner yet.

Isaac and I did some gift exchanging this morning… he got me new dishes for my birthday, but 2 were missing from the package and 1 was broke- and of course when we took them back to Macy’s there were no others like them in the store. What a rip… I did find a new pair for black shoes though :)

We were busy shopping until around 1 and then ran by Fresh Market. I had already eaten this bar as a mid morning snack by 12pm:

And then ruined my lunch by snacking on a bunch of this Wasabi explosion stuff from Fresh Market.

Both things were good, but I don’t like snacking my lunch away on all processed foods. I’m seriously going to try to start eating more balanced and healthy again. I’ve kind of been slacking and now I’m feeling it. I don’t think the cold weather and sitting at a desk for 8 hours a day is helping…dang it!

As a way to start my plan, I’m going to head to the gym right now before the after-work rush starts!! Hope everyone is having a fabulous Monday!

soup looks delish!
and agree with you that sitting at a desk for 8 hours and the cold winter doesn’t help on keep tracking with healthy life style, but we should at least try, right?
good luck at the gym!

The soup looks really good. I might just need to go to Caraba’s to try that out. That sucks about the dishes, but I do love that your dad gave you cosmetics. :D I love Bare Escentuals.

Yay for Dad time!
Let me know if you like that Rare Minerals cleanser. I love all their stuff, but have been hesitant to try it.
Happy belated Birthday too!

I hate how PF Changs ALWAYS has a wait :( That soup still sounds fantastic and their bread/oil is very good!

What a great gift!!

OMG! I love Carrabba’s for the exact same reason. That minestrone is just killer–so hearty and delicious.
