Back in the Swing

My first day back at work went well. Despite not wanting to wake up :) Here is what I ended up nibbling on for breakfast. 2 servings of Trader Joe’s high fiber cereal with 1/2 a banana and almond milk.

Mid morning, about an hour before lunch time I ate a few bites of this little bar.

INGREDIENTS:
Organic Peanuts, Organic Dates, Organic Rice Crisps (Organic Brown Rice Flour, Organic Honey, Organic Raisin Juice Concentrate, Sea Salt), Organic Honey, Sea Salt.

The Verdict: I was pleasantly surprised when I found that my Trader Joe’s carries the Peanut Butter and Chocolate chip flavored JamFrakas. I know some folks haven’t been impressed with the JamFraka bars, but I have to admit that I liked this one. Although, it may have something to do with the fact that Peanut Butter is one of my favorite foods. I should probably try some of the other flavors before deciding that I love JamFrakas. I did like the little crisps within the bar though.  And the nutritionals and ingredients aren’t too bad either. The ingredient list is a tad longer than the traditional larabar, but overall nothing scary. Lastly, the bar seemed a little small at first, but when thinking about the size of normal Larabars and that fact that is only 120 calories- I think the size is pretty good. I guess I am a kid at heart because I love all the bars for kids!

When lunch rolled around I had a salad, very similar to the one I had yesterday. I used the last of my TJ’s Goddess dressing and I’m sad. This was the first time buying it and I think I am in LOVE! Gotta get back to Joe’s soon.

Dinner was boring – just leftovers from the spaghetti I had last night. But this morning was not so boring because I had a delicious bowl of oats with banana, walnuts and raisins. It has been a long while since I’ve had raisins atop my oats and I’ve been missing those little boogers. YUM!

Hooray for work going well and for liking the bar!!

**My all-time favorite oatmeal topping (more like “mix-ins”) = nut-butter/seed-butter and banana. Never fails me :-)

Besides something to make it sweet (like agave or brown sugar), I can’t eat oatmeal with out pecans or preferably, walnuts. I like crunch!

I don’t really have a favorite topping, but my favorite mixins are yogurt and banana :)

Don’t even bother with the other flavors of Jamfrackas! They’re not worth it, PB is the only good one for reals :)

I don’t eat oatmeal often – I know, the horror!! When I do it’s usually something boring like a ‘naner or kashi cereal.

I can’t have oatmeal without banana! I often do the mix you had today–banana, walnuts, raisins. Looks good!

Mmm! Your oatmeal does look yummy. Have you tried gingerly? It’s no goddess but I like it. :)
Hmm. Probably brown sugar, which I haven’t had in years. :)

That is definitely my favorite JamFrakas bar. And as for my fave oatmeal topping…I’d have to say peanut butter! Surprise!

peanut butter, nuts, and Z BARS! a must try! I also love cottage cheese/fage in my oats. i have yet to try protein powder, we have vanilla flavour in my cabinet so i shall try that soon. i like how u eat raw tofu-i’ve done that before and alot of people found it strange but it tastes good if you have other sources of intense flavor (almond butter/salad dressing). You go girl!
