B-nut in the Oven

by eatingbirdfood on December 31, 2008

I slept in quite late yesterday and woke up hungry. I decided to have an apple about 20 minutes before going for some brown rice cereal with a banana on top.

Our friend, Aubrey, is in town visiting so while Isaac went to his staff luncheon at a fancy shamancy restaurant, Aubrey and I went to have sushi. I didn’t get to take a picture, but I had

  • miso soup
  • seaweed salad
  • 2 peices of yellowtail tuna sashimi

We went to Capital Ale House for “Steal the Glass” night, I had a Hoegaarden beer and Isaac had the Sierra Nevada Celebration Ale. We sipped on these while playing darts and Isaac got to bring his glass home. I haven’t drank in a while so I was feeling this one beer pretty quickly.

I was starving for dinner so when get got home I had a quick salad with sprout beans with Trader Joe’s Goddess dressing and a few wheat thins with hummus while something special cooked in the oven.

B-nut squash fries!!!! After seeing them eaten by both The Fitnessista and Gliding Calm, I decided I had to try em. I cut up the squash, sprayed them with some canola oil and sprinkled some S&P, then baked them for 425 for about 30-40 minutes. They are sooo good, I would even go as far as saying they are better than sweet potato fries?!?

After din we went over to a friends house to help them decorate and build a “tent room” for thier New Year’s Eve party, which is tonight! I’ll be sure to take pictures. While walking to their house I had a mug of diet hot chocolate and once we got there they offered me special dark chocolate Hershey’s kisses – which I couldn’t resist. I had 5.

This morning I woke up and had some fresh grapefruit juice made in the Mr. JuiceMan. So creamy and delicious.

Followed by 1/2 cup oats with water, with 1/2 scoop of chocolate protein powder, some ground flax and some almond butter.

Can’t wait to find out how everyone rings in 2009- Have fun tonight!

I see you like to leave your almond butter on the side of your oats! I think it’s the best method as well!
