Preferably For Change… Okay I’m stepping off my soapbox now to bring you yesterday’s eats. I had almond milk, banana oats with a spoon of PB. It was tasty but the banana wasn’t quite ripe enough to give the sweetness I was hoping for. Here’s hoping that tomorrow the nanars will be riper :)

For lunch I packed a Snobby Joe and a spinach salad. I used balsamic vinaigrette dressing and tossed a couple tomatoes on, along with a broken up piece of string cheese.

I went to Ukrop’s (locally owned grocery store) and got a smallish bag of treats from the bulk bins. Some trail mix, yogurt covered raisins, and some dried mango. I have about 3-4 handfuls.

Later on in the afternoon was I hungry again so I ate a kiwi.100_2132

Lunch combined with the snacks held me over quite well as I waited for the football game festivities to begin. Isaac invited a bunch of friends over and grilled out. He made me an Amy’s Texas veggie burger. I had some Alexia sweet potato fries to go along with it. And, no stomach pain!! I am assuming it has the skin of the baked sweet potatoes with it’s abundance of insoluble fiber that does a number on my stomach. This is unfortunate because I really like eating the skin.

Lastly, a friend brought over homemade carrot cake his mom had made that was sooo good. I wanted to eat the whole container, but I resisted and ate one piece. It was delicious. He is going to send me the recipe. I am excited because carrot cake is my dad’s favorite so I can make that for him for his b-day in December.

Question – There are so many varieties of cake… What is your favorite type?

I think mine is icecream cake!

I love ice cream cake. I think that might be my favorite too. My favorite kind of pie is apple pie, I think. But pumpkin and pecan are close behind.

Oh cake! I like lots, but really only if homemade, not bakery made. I love carrot cake! (Ellie Krieger has a really good recipe by the way) and plain white cake. Mmmmm. Oh and of course ice cream cake!

Happy Election Day! Okay, my absolute favorite cake is the Berry Chantilly cake at Whole Foods. You must try it and they sell it individually too! Oh, and cookie cake…I could literally eat the entire thing. Have a good day!
