It was so cold here today – it’s unbelievable that just this weekend it was 69 degrees and tonight’s low is 26! I don’t really like the cold weather – I feel like my body gets all stiff when I go out into it. This is my reasoning with cold weather – it’s only worth dealing with the coldness if I get to see some white and lovely snow. And, today was my lucky day because we got a little bit! It didn’t stick at all, but I get all giddy when it snows so I was super excited when I was walking on my lunch break and a few flurries starting sprinkling down. I didn’t get a chance to take pictures of my food today, but something else exciting happened! One of the best food bloggers and all around great lady, miss Jenn at Eating Bender, gave me my first ever blog award!
Here are the rules:
1. Post the award on your blog
2. Link to me for giving it to you
3. Link the originating post here
4. Pass it on to five deserving people
5. Post these rules for your recipients.
I would like to pass the award on to five bloggers who I admire. Make sure to check out their lovely blogs-
- Maggie at Say Yes To Salad
- Olga at Healthing It
- Beadie at What I Ate Yesterday
- Arielle at Couch Cubicle
- Heather at Hangry Pants
Also, I have a burning question for any vegetarians or anyone who might know a good recipe for a vegetarian main dish for THANKSGIVING. I am going to eat with Isaac’s fam and they are going to have a turkey I am sure, but his mom and I are trying to think of a main dish that is veggie. Any good ideas please send them my way!

thanks for the award =] !!!
I wanted to award you as well, but I saw that Jenn did it already!
I feel you on the cold…Its 25 here tonight…O00Offff.
Thank you!! I’m very honored
I think for our thanksgiving we’re doing a Tofurkey and some sort of squash. Either butternut squash baked fries w/ketchup or stuffed acorn squash (stuffed with veggies and rice probably). If we do bnut fries then I think I have to make another veggie which I haven’t decided on yet. I bought the Tofurkey a week or two ago. They’re really good.
You are so sweet
I’m really glad that I gave you your first-ever award, that makes me even happier!! It is LONG overdue, Brittany. You are certainly one of the best food bloggers around BlogTown. And a Superior Scribbler — haha, sorry I just really like the name of this award and can’t help but type it out every time I comment on it!
Re: your comment on my blog – I don’t think it’s gluten that’s hurting my stomach (those tests ruled it out, which is bittersweet because if it were gluten I’d at least have some explanation). That was just VeggieGirl sharing some of her faves. But since you asked I’m wondering — were the quinoa flakes part of a gluten-free test for you??
The best I can do as far as vegetarian at Thanksgiving is something with sweet potatoes, but I’m not sure if that counts as a main dish!
24°F HERE!! I’m freeeezing.
CONGRATS ON THE AWARD!!!

My comment got spammed!!
*blush*
thanks for the award!
Congrats on the award!
I’ve made Linda McCartney’s Festive Loaf (a fake meatloaf) for Thanksgiving, and even the turkey eaters like it! If you want the recipe, I can send it to you (or link to it somewhere). Also, I really like Quorn’s meatless turkey roast (and my sister, who loves turkey, is a big fan of it also).
Congrats on the award. I wish I had an idea for you! I am trying to come up with the same for myself. I will share if I find anything!
Congrats on the award – happy wednesday!
I can’t believe this is your first blog award! You are the best.
Also, thanks so much for sending it my way.
I love getting awards in any form.
Olga – You are totally welcome. I love your blog!
Maggie- I wanted to get a tofurkey – but I have heard horror stories. Maybe there are different brands?? Bnut fries sound good!
Jenn- Thanks lady! Actually, same sort of deal for me. Isaac’s mom just gave me those to try so I was trying them out – not really because they were gluten free.
VeggieGirl- I retrieved your comment! What a great post – thanks for sharing. I think I am going to make the quinoa casserole – it sounds fantastic.
Beadie – WELCOME- you deserve it!
Sara – I will contact you, because I would like to see what the recipe includes!
Megan – Okay – we can both keep our eyes peeled – I’ll let you know if I find anything.
Heather – AWW.. thanks mam. And, no problemo – awards are fun!!
