Almost Friday

In case you couldn’t tell – I’m ready for the weekend. I woke up this morning and decided to try the instant Quaker Weight Smart oatmeal with 1/2 of a banana stirred in before placing it in microwave. It worked well- probably didn’t get as mushy as it would have on the stove top but it was really fast and it tasted good.

Mid morning I ate the other 1/2 of the banana and this little gem:

I saw these at Target and decided I needed them because I had never seen them before. It was kind of an impulse buy, but indeed, a good one! Maybe they are new to the US, but I’m pretty sure Leclerc is an established Canadian company. Any readers from Canada got any info on them?

And, since I know you all have been waiting anxiously - I posted the PRODUCT REVIEW tonight.

So I had been craving a Goddess Tofu Wrap from Ellwood Thompson’s. I decided to forego packing my lunch last night and dreamed of having one for lunch today, however when I got there today there were none to be found because they were out of the tofu they use to make it. I was bummed but got the SouthWestern Tofu wrap as a sub. It was good. I ate half and I’ll probably eat the other half for lunch tomorrow.

Like usual – I was full of “real” food but not too full for something sweet. I bought a bag of yogurt covered raisins from the bulk bins. It was the type of bin were the pull the lever and the item comes gushing out. And, btw I don’t like this type of bulk bin because it’s hard to control the gushing. As predicted.. too many of the the yogurt covered raisins came out but I couldn’t just empty some back in or leave the bag on the shelf so I had to purchase the large amount when I really only wanted a few. Oh well, I’ll have them to snack on later – which could be good or bad considering after I bought such a large quantity  I looked up online the nutritional values. Let’s just say they are v. similar to candy when it comes to nutritional values. I must admit that they are pretty darn tasty.

oh, and I had more than just this handful.

For dinner I had homemade pizza with SPICY vegetarian sausage, spinach, tomatoes, onions, and a sprinkle of parm cheese. We had some green beans on the side. I went back for seconds on the pizza and had another slice. This was the sausage I used. And it was Hot Hot Hot.

For snack I had puffed wheat with rice chex and almond milk while watching The Full Monty. I had never seen that movie and it was too funny and now I have the song by Hot Chocolate – You Sexy Thing in my head. :)

I want the bars now!
I hear you on the yogurt covered raisins. They’re kinda insanely caloric.

So what’s the deal here do you ACTUALLY eat bird food or have I been mislead by the whacky title??

I was just curious cause i do it too, don’t hide your shame. Be proud!!!!!!! It’s good with mango and peach yogurt, gives it that rainforest taste.

Or try them roasted! *drools* Now I’m hungry!!! LOL

Robin – Eating Bird Food came from a saying that people used to say about me. “All you eat is bird food.” It was basically because I like trail mix and it’s components -nuts, seeds, and dried fruit. I ate that a lot and I guess from what others said it looked like I was eating bird food. Plus I think the saying “You eat like a bird” means you eat small portions or you eat really healthy…

long story short- I’ve never tried eating actual bird food and I probably won’t ever, but if it’s just seeds, I don’t see it being too bad.
