Missing My Oats

by eatingbirdfood on September 11, 2008

This morning I realized I was out of bananas so I sadly decided to forego making oats. I had a bowl of puffed wheat cereal with skim.

The cereal didn’t completely fill me up so I put a veggie sausage on the stove and had that as well.100_1711.JPG

Around 10 I was feeling hungry once again so I had a 1/4 cup of granola. I don’t think the cereal did a great job of filling me up so I was pretty much hungry all morning.100_1712.JPG

I planned on going to a step class at 12:15 so I had and apple with PB before I left.100_1714.JPG

The class was great- I had never done a step class before. It was quite intense and I left sweatier than I thought I was going to be. I had planned to run 30 minutes after the class, but I decided I was hungry and that would just do my run later. So I returned home for lunch: spinach salad with 1 baby carrot, kidney beans, wheat berries and cucumbers (dressing added after photo shoot), tofu, and cous cous.100_1715.JPG 100_1718.JPG

While I ate I watched the remaining portion of The Graduate. It was a great movie- Dustin Hoffman is young and quite cute. The film brings a whole new meaning to Paul Simon’s Mrs. Robinson. BTW I love Paul Simon. During the movie sesh I was craving something sweet so I had a Chocolate Chip Z-bar.100_1719.JPG

Then I started munching on these… I was only going to eat 1/2 the box but the whole thing disappeared… oh well.100_1720.JPG

I went for a quick 30 minute run, came home and showered up, did some laundry, watched little What not to wear and then Isaac came home from work and brought me a potato quesadilla from a friends house. I had planned on having a veggie burger for dinner, but I can’t turn down free food. I was mainly wanting to have a veggie burgers o I could make more sweet potato fries and I figured that would be fine as a side with the quesadilla. So dinner looked a little something- well exactly, like this:

wee!! too many pretty pictures! the apple, the sweet potato fries, the TOFU! yum yum!!!

I’m totally like you…if I don’t have bananas, or canned pumpkin, I usually decide to have something other than oats. although pear and apple oatmeal is good too…but bananas are my top. my number one. the best.

For me, puffed cereals are useless for breakfast, unless paired with yogurt. I don’t even buy it.

I have those measuring cups.
