That used to be an ice cream “creation” at Coldstone when I worked there. Who knows if they still have this flavor, considering I worked there a long time ago when I was a college Freshman. And yes, I had to sing when people gave tips – it was lame, and often times I would pretend I didn’t see them put the money in the jar so I didn’t have to sing. I was so great at beating the system, until some customers called me out on it, mainly ones with kids did this, and we were like, “ohhhh.. you did give a tip! Sorry, we didn’t even see that,” then burst into song. I still remember some of the tunes.
So anyways, back to the point, I am getting quite experimental with my oats lately and trying different variations I have seen on other blogs. This morning I used pumpkin pie filling in my oats, I realize that pumpkin pie filling has more sugar than regular pumpkin puree would have, but it was all the lady I was house sitting had, and it sweet and delicious. It seemed like I was eating pumpkin pie for breakfast, which made my day! Next time I will probably just buy plain old pumpkin puree and add my own sweetness, and I do want to add some sort of “crust”, maybe some graham crackers. Here’s my bowl of pumpkin pie oats with walnuts on top.
Last night for dinner I made 2 pita pizzas by splitting on pita in half, spooning on some tomato sauce, and adding some fresh veggies and mozzarella cheese. I popped them into the oven on 425 for about 5-7 minutes and dinner was served. They turned out to be pretty spectacular.
And, a close up:
In other news: Isaac, my love, is finally done with his training and he will be home during the weekdays from now on… I’m pretty excited about this because I was getting quite lonely.. minus blog world! Last weekend when he was home he surprised me with roses and they are still looking beautiful a week later. I love love love fresh flowers. I think they really brighten a room and they make me happy.
I’m off to run errands and what not.

Aw, what a sweet boyfriend – the roses are beautiful!
I’ve never tried pumpkin in my oats – I think I’d need to make it extra sweet because my sweet tooth is soo strong.
I make similar oatmeal and crumble those graham cracker sticks on top then bake it in the over for a few minutes. Highly recommend it. Nice flowers. Sweet boyfriend.
That looks excellent! How much pumpkin did you use?
Gorgeous flowers!

Mmm adding pumpkin puree to oats is already great, but adding pumpkin pie filling? Now that would make for one amazing bowl of oats.
Pita pizzas are one of my favourite pizza craving alternative. Whenever I’m in the mood for some pizza, they always more than satisfy.
And those flowers are completely GORGEOUS.
This is my first time visiting your site.
I’m glad Isaac will be home. Its really hard being apart. My husband was out of town consistently for 6 months. Boy was I glad when that was over.
I can’t help but notice that you have been doing some really good chowing down!
