I was going to go to my gym for a Step Class at 12:00, but time flew up this morning and it’s now 11:38 so I don’t think I am going to make it, plus I really need to get started training for the half-marathon I am doing this November, it’s only about 14 weeks away. So on that note, I’ll just go running instead.
For breakfast today I woke up craving oats and I came up with this little combo:
Oats, wheatberries, blackberries, granola, and flax. I added a little SF maple syrup after the photo.
Dinner last night was a veggie burger, Morning Star Mushroom Lovers, with yellow tomato and spinach on an ezekiel english muffin and a sweet potato that was micro-waved, cut up into “fries” and then baked for a crispy outside with soft inside. The ketchup glob looks odd, sorry, we have the no drip squirter kind and it must be messed up because it squirts at a really weird angle and I’m always worried that it might miss the plate entirely and squirt my shirt.
Good news on the home front. I have a small “job” lined up from Thursday-Sunday of house/dog sitting for a family friend, which will definietly help out with the finances. One nice thing is that when I tallked to the lady I was house sitting for she said she had a lot of foods that she wanted me to eat because she didn’t want them to go bad… I am fine with that because she buys everything organic and loves ezekiel products. Her house is actually where I had my first Ezekiel english muffin… ohhh the memories…
By the way, have you all seen this? It’s new, as made apparent by the bold letters lining the top of the box.
My honey bunches (i know, not funny) decided to buy this cereal when he was home last weekend, and I tried a bite of it. It seems like the ultimate cereal because everyone knows the best part of honey bunches of oats is the bunches. It’s not that great or that bad on the nutrition scale with a 2/3 cup serving having 290 calories, 7 grams of fat, .5 Saturated fat, and 14 grams of sugar, and it does have 2 polyunsaturated and 3.5 monounsaturated fat, 4 grams of fiber and 5 grams of protein. It’s really sweet and almost tastes a bit chocolatey when in milk, Isaac seems to think it tastes like Coco-Pebbles- I wouldn’t know because I am an adult and don’t eat kids cereal.. well, at least not on the regular. I did notice that it didn’t change his milk color brown like coco-pebbles does. I think it would be too sweet to eat a whole bowl of, Isaac disagrees, but it might be good to toss about 1/4 cup in a less sugary cereal to sweeten it up… kind of like the actual Honey Bunches of Oats… huh?? I’ve been steering clear of it though because I we all know about me and cereal. And, I don’t have any milk.
